Re: Cornell Sun's Glossary of Cornell Sports Terms - 6 years ago
rss77 Ithaca College had a varsity ice hockey team back in the 1960s and 1970s and played at Lynah Rink. They dropped the sport back sometime in mid-70s. I remember an acquaintance of mine at Cornell showing me the article in the Cornell Sun of IC's decision (He played on the ice hockey team at IC and transferred to Cornell for academic reasons as he did not play on CU's team). Rumor had that aby CU2007 - Other Sports

I.C.: Ithaca College, the school on the other hill. Division III kingpin in just about every sport. Nicknamed the Bombers, possibly because of an affinity for cheap Ithaca bars. Is that really true? Honest question. Noel: Andy. Current Cornell Athletic Director. Daily Sun favorite. Who doesn’t love Andy? Guess they don't read this forum...by CU2007 - Other Sports

billhoward Harvard a decade ago rescinded the admission offer to HS senior Blair Hornstine who sued her Moorestown, NJ HS to be the sole valedictorian, no co-valedictorian. The publicity about the lawsuit resulted in a closer look at some articles she'd published in a local paper. They were plagiarized. Admission was rescinded. BearLover underskill BearLover Intriguing to hear Greening so animated talking about an AHL playoff game, having played almost 300 games in the NHL. I'd be interested in learning when/why things started to go downhill for Colin after he averaged almost a point every-other game for the Sens, playing three full seasons, much of which was spent on their top line. This year he posted only 10 goalsby CU2007 - Hockey

Trotsky Clarkson is cheap? Doesn't really jibe with what we know of Casey. Well, perhaps less so this year (and even since he took over) though I think they were much chippier than other teams. You might disagree. Was referring more to the Nickerson era and years past.by CU2007 - Hockey

billhoward I heard this looked great on TV but the crowd was equal to about half the stadium capacity (15K of 30K) so there was little room to move around.
