Re: Polls 2017-18 - 6 years ago
abmarks ajh258 Never thought I'd see this day in my lifetime. There's still plenty of hockey to be played before getting too comfortable. The ultimate goals is win the Frozen 4, not win a USCHO poll (which we all know is BS and pointless). This. FF is all that matters, not anything before then. Winning the ECAC title also matters.by CU2007 - Hockey

andyw2100 andyw2100 It's 7:04 PM. Does anyone have the game playing on the ILDN? I have the school logos, etc. Nevermind...it's up now. Still logos on roku ildn channel and I can see we already scored on my phone. Ridiculousby CU2007 - Hockey

Trotsky Cornell needs to start "hosting" Albany regionals, whatever that bullsh-t entails. Ideally hosting would be banned, but while we still have this stupid system we might as well use it. What are the criteria for a host city? There’s an AHL rink and lots of hotels in Syracuse, Rochester, etc. Elmira? Binghamton?by CU2007 - Hockey

osorojo Ithaca produced Dustin Brown. No reason why Portage can't produce at least a fine college hockey player, even if Portage is smaller than Ithaca. How many D-1 hockey players came out of New York City or Hong Kong last year? I don't think anyone was implying a small, Canadian town couldn't produce a good hockey player - merely an off-the-cuff observation.by CU2007 - Hockey

Trotsky DafatoneDraft picks are not always the best players right now. Sometimes an 18 year old drafted freshman will be behind a 20 year old undrafted freshman, but have more potential down the road. Perhaps this is the royal road for us competing nationally perennially. We will never get the true blue chippers who go to Minnesota and North Dakota because, now how can I put this delicately?,by CU2007 - Hockey

Ken711 Cornell is playing at Delaware again in 2018. What kind of dumb scheduling is that. Chalk up another loss in that game. Aren't the schedules made years in advance? I honestly don't know about Cornell, but the big time schools have already announced games 20 years in the future. Syracuse and Notre Dame will be playing in 2038 FYI.by CU2007 - Other Sports

billhoward CU2007 TimV Don't know why Archer chooses to accept a penalty that gives the offense (that has shredded him all day) an extra down that leads to the TD that beats him- then runs the ball with 17 seconds left and no TOs ensuring only one more chance to score. Jeez. This. Both of these were unbelievably stupid decisions. Truly mind boggling at the D1 level. Stupid when it doesn't work ouby CU2007 - Other Sports

Trotsky Swampy RichH Daily Sun column: "One Day a Year" Instead of blockquoting the hell out of it, I'll just link it. For several reasons, Clarkson was always circled on my calendar. Raphy Gendler Galajda is tied for second-most shutouts for a freshman goaltender in Cornell history. Any idea who are the two tenders (#1 and the one tied for #2)? RichH Daily Sun column: "One Day a Year" Instead of blockquoting the hell out of it, I'll just link it. For several reasons, Clarkson was always circled on my calendar. Very well thought out and well written article - especially for the Sun which usually talks of players "hitting" the puck into the net or the goalie "blocking" a shot attempt.by CU2007 - Hockey

KenP Despite our divide-by-zero winning percentage, are #50 in SOS according to KRACH. You have to go down to #26 Niagara before finding someone with a weaker SOS. That will rise when Harvard starts consistently winning as I (and I assume many others here) expect. I'm not convinced with QPac.by CU2007 - Hockey
Re: HARVARD SUCKS - 6 years ago
upprdeck is it ILDN or the feed from WHCU still going old school across multiple lines to get to the internet.. last I knew the stream was going out of the building on cable lines to a another building then being converted and feed back to a fiber line and sent to ILDN where ever that is and then out to us.. This is all kind of over my head, but whatever it is, its pathetic in 2017.by CU2007 - Hockey
Re: HARVARD SUCKS - 6 years ago
Is anybody else's ILDN severely delayed these days? I got a text from an old friend (who was listening or maybe at the game) about the game winner seemingly 5 minutes before I saw it on my screen - really annoying. I don't remember this being the case in the past.by CU2007 - Hockey

RichH andyw2100 St. Cloud State lost to Denver tonight, so we are the last team remaining unbeaten and untied. Does the 1970 team do a toast in this case or not? I assume you are referencing the '72 Dolphins here. A cool story, that has unfortunately been debunked:by CU2007 - Hockey

Re: Cornell football 2017 - 6 years ago
ugarte Cornell declines a holding penalty on 3d & 17 and lets Bucknell take a 38 yard FG, which they hit. 13-10 Bucknell. Admittedly with no context of the game situation, that seems incredibly stupid given the general troubles college team have once you get outside of 40 yards or so. Were they scared they'd give up a first on 3rd and 27? If so, that's a whole 'nother issue.by CU2007 - Other Sports
