Re: Interesting news about Harvard admissions - 2 years ago
Trotsky There is Harvard, for smart kids. And there is "Harvard," for rich kids. This is true for every Ivy (even our beloved), but especially for HYP. 50+ years ago a Harvard alumnus visited my high school to talk with anyone who showed up and I came away with a few good lines. Someone asked about study abroad and the rep said that Harvard doesn't support study abroad. "Weby David Harding - Other Sports

andyw2100 jtwcornell91 I was listening for Davy in 3 after the 10th goal, and it didn't sound like it. Has the band forgotten about that (no lacrosse since the current seniors were freshmen), or was it just too hard to hear on the broadcast? Not sure what "Davy in 3" is, but I'm somewhat surprised you could hear much of the band on the broadcast at all. By the end of the game I tby David Harding - Hockey

Re: Controversial call in Princeton vs Harvard football game - 2 years ago
jtwcornell91 Scersk '97 Ken711 Doesn't look like Princeton will be so gracious and give the win back to Harvard. Harvard's 2-point conversion came in the "bottom of the inning" too, so Princeton's possible concession would be most rational. There would seem to be no "we would've played the rest of the game differently" excuse. It took me a while to figure out what happenedby David Harding - Other Sports

jtwcornell91 Not exactly a bar, but I just saw on Google today that the Hillside Inn has closed. When did that happen? And what's there now? Here's an article from 2019. Re: New indoor campus recreation & sports center - 2 years ago
Pure speculation: Looking at the campus master plan from a few years ago, I see some overlap with these words, but it's not obviously the same thing. The master plan shows some athletics and recreation building as am option in the space between Friedman Wrestling Center and Upper Alumni Field, with the north side aligned with the north side of Bartels. ugarte There is going to be an Ivy season next year. Sports around the country was janky but by and large they made it work.
