French Rage Josh '99 ajh258 the new "this is where we hold them" chant from section A My guess is a 300 reference. Edit: Or Kenny Rogers? If you haven't seen 300, there's the scene. Very faint chant, I doubt you will hear it beyond B but there's like 30 people in A who were doing it.by ajh258 - Hockey

marty Polacek plays for RPI, so I hope if he scores in Albany that he's wearing his helmet. Blurg! That's what I get for checking elynah at work :p I still stand by the Backman prediction though, although Scrivens has a great shot at winning, I can't see the league give him Ken Dryden and POTY at the same time unless we win the championship and he performs amazingly with a shutout against SLby ajh258 - Hockey
Re: Any official word on Cornell ticket office sale of Albany tickets? - 14 years ago
Beeeej Do the tickets have times on them for Saturday's games? I'm assuming they're 4 and 7 again, but I want to make sure. Yes, they are at 4 and 7 as well.by ajh258 - Hockey
Re: Any official word on Cornell ticket office sale of Albany tickets? - 14 years ago
So I just came back from the ticket office and got my student tickets in section 115 for both days. The prices have actually changed for the two day passes - from 24 dollars to 28 dollars for both days. My guess is they never got the two-day discount tickets at Bartel because they posted the prices last night but the manager at the office said they only received 14 dollar tickets this morningby ajh258 - Hockey

amerks127 Josh '99 amerks127 Jim Hyla From Dan Sweeney's blog At the very least, Cornell goalie Ben Scrivens will be going to the Final Four. The Big Red senior has been selected to participate in the NCAA Frozen Four Skills Challenge on April 9 at Ford Field. To the surprise of no one, Scrivens is a finalist for the Dryden award. It would be an absolute joke if he didn't win. Last one..by ajh258 - Hockey

Wow... look at the PWR now... if you think it was bad for Yale, look at UNH... It's down to 15th place as of this moment.by ajh258 - Hockey
Re: Other Scores, Sunday March 14 - 14 years ago
ryeguy ajh258 It's funny how the post-game hosts for Yale mentioned how they are now gonna root for us because if we don't win they could get bumped off an at-large bid. I don't think Yale has anything to worry about as far as getting a bid. Well, Vermont could move up and Minnesota-Duluth could move up as well. Wins by both teams could be a jump in their PWR, especially for Vermont, who's upby ajh258 - Hockey
Re: Other Scores, Sunday March 14 - 14 years ago
I'm kinda worried about our match-up next Saturday because both Union and SLU have great records and we tied them both on Saturday away games this season (granted they were at home and not in a neutral arena). Of course, this is assuming we can beat Brown, who has also shown great resilience tonight by holding off that 1-0 lead for more than 50 minutes against the toughest offense in the ECAC.by ajh258 - Hockey

Re: Other Scores, Sunday March 14 - 14 years ago
5:59 to go. Clemente is having a great night. It's funny how Brown is playing our style (good D, great goalie) and they are able to break-up Yale's pace. If they can play this well next weekend, it could be a close game this coming Friday.by ajh258 - Hockey

ithacat ajh258 Hmm... the radio announcer for Yale just said, "it feels a lot like game one." Go bears! Brown is evening up the SOGs this period (11-10 so far), sounds like the Elis are slacking off on their D. I keep losing the radio feed this period. is where I get it. Re: Letter from MetaEzra - 14 years ago
There are various issues with chant discipline among the people in section A and B this year because no one really stops the facetimers. The dynamics have changed, even from the beginning of the year when there was a kind of restraint and selection when starting chants. One that bothered me in particular was the "We want Carroll" chant throughout the game. To be fair, Richter made 29by ajh258 - Hockey

After attending all the home games and all but three away games this year, I join some of the faithful in agreeing that the team could do better under the circumstances. While it was not necessarily give a "mediocre" performance throughout the year, I definitely walked away from many weekends feeling disappointed. When this happens once or twice, it's understandable because everyone havby ajh258 - Hockey

sockralex Chris '03 Can the team skate out of a giant inflatable bear head too? HAHA. Kill me now. If we resort to that or thunderstix then I will cry myself to sleep after every game. Re: Letter from MetaEzra - 14 years ago
Trotsky ajh258it's the high ticket prices that ensure people in the student sections are the most dedicated fans ... I know some freshmen who have season tickets but simply stopped coming. This seems like a contradiction? Fans come late / aren't involved / don't know the cheers / are sorority facetimers is an annual thread. Does anybody think it's become qualitatively worse, or is this the samby ajh258 - Hockey
Re: Letter from MetaEzra - 14 years ago
phillysportsfan One thing I am curious about with attendance is if freshman season ticket holder numbers are down this year because the basketball team is less likely to sway upperclassmen who have had tickets before. But for freshman, basketball makes a great case considering it is free, general admission, they are good, and the ushers dont bother us at all except for Matt Coats occasionally thrby ajh258 - Hockey

Dafatone On the topic of a changing atmosphere at Lynah, I know that when I was there I saw a shift in usher enforcement. This was mostly in the 2006-2007 season. Me and my friends got told to tone it down a couple times in section D for yelling at the goalie. No swearing, just particularly ridiculous (think screaming at the top of your lungs repeatedly) shouting at the opposing sieve. Maybeby ajh258 - Hockey
Re: Cornell 6 Colgate 2 (final) - 14 years ago
I was very satisfied with the turnout today, especially since it's a Tuesday night. It's great to see that some seniors still care and they were there all the way drowning those pathetic Colgate fans Anyways, I agree with the abovementioned observations, especially our reliance on Scrivens. He can help us get to the ECAC championships but I doubt much further beyond that. The team has to makby ajh258 - Hockey
Re: Letter from MetaEzra - 14 years ago
People are not dedicated to sports as they were decades ago. I asked fellow season ticket holders if they were interested in away games, and more than 9 out of 10 said no. I am not sure why - my guess is that it's a generational thing where people are more focused on personal achievements rather than extracurriculars that generate no substantive return. Many people are too focused on the materialby ajh258 - Hockey
Re: Which jersey would you rather wear? - 14 years ago
Personally, I would get Garman's jersey if it wasn't too big, or if you think it fits you. He's the first one to wear 35 and it something that's pretty special IMO. Other than that, just pick your favorite number or player. Good players are bound to wear that number/wore it before, so it doesn't really matter. If I were you I would get Scali or someone with a smaller jersey (not sure if his isby ajh258 - Hockey

cbuckser sah67 The 2010 Florida College Hockey Classic teams have been set: Cornell, Maine, St. Cloud State, and Miami. Impressive field. So, what interconference opponents do we know about? I can come up with only four: two of Maine, St. Cloud State, & Miami of Ohio; BU; and UNH. I've been told by the ticket office that there will be no MSG BU event next year. Jim Hyla upperdeck I was more amazed at the language that the clarkson band used and didnt seem to be getting in trouble for.. much worse than the stuff I see cornell fans getting tossed by the ushers for using, considering its an organized cheer and not some random person does that make it more allowable.. seem ruff em up was converted to stop kids from being tossed.. didnt seem to be an issueby ajh258 - Hockey
Re: Dustin Mowrey - 2010 Recruit - 14 years ago
Apparently you can buy character, at least with a Cornell "scholarship." Anywho, I hope he lives up to his promises. Good forwards are always in short supply. Edit: I don't mean any disrespect to the player. Just the athletic financial aid policy we have vs rest of the Ivies... Ahhh I'm so sad I missed this game. I had tickets but wasn't able to make it up to New Hampshire in time from Florida. The College Classic games were real big disappointments so I'm glad Schafer got the players back on track. I hope this momentum gets carried through the coming semester and we'll be able to end up first in the conference. Quinnipiac is losing its steam recently and it would be aby ajh258 - Hockey
Re: Cornell Game Jerseys - 14 years ago
jtwcornell91 Getting it from Teagle is the best way to go. Call up Bill during the day and ask about the availability. I think there's still some left. The jerseys are $125 now and they do have name plates/captain's C on them if the player has graduated. They are wearing new Bauer jerseys this year instead of the Nike ones we've been getting for the past few years so you might want to waitby ajh258 - Hockey
