Re: Canadiens sign Brendon Nash to 2-Year Deal - 14 years ago
jkahn Maybe (wishful thinking) this will give Riley even more incentive to stay in school, so that he can then sign with the Canadiens next summer after his draft rights expire. I'm sure having Brendon here helped get Riley to Cornell - perhaps the Habs are thinking this might help them in that regard also. I don't think it would be that much of a surprise of Riley returns next year. This is oby ajh258 - Hockey
Re: Buh-bye, seniors - 14 years ago
Josh '99 Also bear in mind that, per KRACH (i.e., a better ranking system than PWR), UNH should actually have been a slim favorite going into this year's game, despite the fact that Cornell was the higher seed per PWR. I don't think past records has much to do with Friday's game, the team we saw was much different from the team that played two weekends ago. On the other hand, I'm not tryingby ajh258 - Hockey
Re: Buh-bye, seniors - 14 years ago
I find it disheartening that we are merely satisfied with "meeting expectations" because the team should strive a lot more than that. The goal is the win the NCAA championship at the end of the year and not patting ourselves on the back for the ECAC championships. Quite frankly, winning the ECACs doesn't mean that much if we are just going to lose to HEA and CHA teams a week after. At tby ajh258 - Hockey
Re: Thank you seniors 2010 - 14 years ago
In the end, although there were some bad games, the highlights of this season overweighed these disappointments. All the seniors performed above expectations and gave us a season that won't be easily forgotten. Thank you.by ajh258 - Hockey

Re: UHN Pregame Thread (RIT and Denver too) - 14 years ago
Itheryn Pretty goal for RIT. RIT is holding their own, but it looks like there's a lack discipline and maturity in the way they skate. Denver is not going to let this happen for all three periods and RIT still has a huge hill to climb before this game is over.by ajh258 - Hockey

I did some more digging last night and found a better bear. As long as we don't make more than 500,000 prints, I think we can use the bear royalty-free. I'm attaching the image and here is the altered design on CustomInk Btw, I'm a "he"by ajh258 - Hockey

imafrshmn ajh258 This is what I have so far. I need to go to bed soon, but it's a star off point. Note: this is not finished, so if you have suggestions let me know. Don't know if you were planning on it or not, but retaining some scruffiness would be nice. I didn't want to just lasso the bear and then put in red... that's kinda copyright infringement but I'll see what I can do.by ajh258 - Hockey

Re: Dream-Crushing, Soul-Devouring Juggernaut Shirts - 14 years ago
imafrshmn Pretty good design. Critiques: The front side looks like a generic tshirt you can pick up at the Cornell store or Bear Necessities in Collegetown. The bear on the back really looks more like a tiger. I know it's hard to find good graphics, but keep trying! I'm working on a ferocious bear design via photoshop right now. It's based off a real bear picture but I'm merely using it as aby ajh258 - Hockey

sah67 Roy 82 Apparently. Jason Klump says in his blog that Cornell fans as usual cannot win with class because they did a Winning team-Losing team cheer. Jason Klump also mistook the team's traditional stick salute to the fans as a salute to Yale when we lost the OT game at Lynah a few weeks ago. Re: Hobey Watch - USCHO blog - 14 years ago
From an interview after tonight's game: Union College head coach Nate Leaman credited stellar goaltending for Cornell's win. "I've seen McKee and I've seen Leneveu, and he's better than both these guys. Scrivens is a huge difference-maker back there." It's really too bad he is not a top contender. Scrivens has been a great leader for his team and he embodies what an ideal sportby ajh258 - Hockey
Re: You Are the Committee - 14 years ago
KeithK RedAR Definitely rooting for a Cornell win tomorrow, but getting 3 ECAC teams into the NCAA's should we lose is not decent consolation. I guess there's a silver lining in either outcome tomorrow. Still, LET'S GO RED! Exactly. Just win. This is why I love our fans!by ajh258 - Hockey

WOW.... this is just sinking in but doesn't this means that our women's hockey team could win the first Cornell NCAA championship for any sport in.... how many years? Anyone know? Brown 0 - 0 Cornell End of 1st. Brown is checking pretty hard and they got more forechecking going on as well. Saw some great hockey from R.Nash as usual and good saves from Scrivens. Although Brown is outshooting us, we had some quality shots and setups so we shouldn't be worried. LGRby ajh258 - Hockey

Re: Hobey Watch - USCHO blog - 14 years ago
Jeff Hopkins '82 Cheverie of Denver has a better saves percentage, more shutouts in essentially the same number of games, and plays in a higher scoring conference (by reputation if not by fact). He's only weaker than Ben by 0.005 in GAA. The only thing is that Cheverie is a junior and Ben is a senior. Add to that the burden of "The System" and Scrivens has a bunch of things going agaby ajh258 - Hockey
Hobey Watch - USCHO blog - 14 years ago
The author mentioned Scrivens as a finalist for Hobey Hat Trick: Ben Scrivens, senior, goaltender, Cornell – Scrivens made a great “closing statement” in the Big Red’s ECAC quarterfinal series against Harvard, stopping 42 of 43 shots in a two-game sweep of Harvard. That leaves him No. 2 in the country in both goals-against average (1.89) and save percentage (.933), and that should be enougby ajh258 - Hockey
