San Francisco - North Bay - 12 years ago
I don't think there are any other ELF readers in the North Bay, but anyone is welcome to come to my house to watch tonight at 6:00 and (hopefully) tomorrow. Email me for address/directions diannesusanmiller AT gmail.com.by Dianne 99 - Hockey
Re: Travel Thread - 13 years ago
Thanks all for the tips and suggestions! Killer, Divokej Bill is playing in Prague one of the nights we're there, so we'll see! Assuming I can find it without too much trouble, I'm very happy to bring a CD back for you!by Dianne 99 - John Spencer Is Dead
Re: Travel Thread - 13 years ago
Reviving an old thread here...I just decided this weekend to join a friend for a few days in Prague later this month. Neither of us have ever been there or know much about it, so does anyone have suggestions for restaurants/entertainment that absolutely shouldn't be missed? We're only there for five days and four nights. Thanks in advance! Dianneby Dianne 99 - John Spencer Is Dead

Apparently this promotion is only at selected Subways. I just went to the one by my office and the owner looked at me like I was nuts when I asked for the free cookie.by Dianne 99 - John Spencer Is Dead

I've had constant video since I switched to justin.tv, but there are now 1400+ viewers, so it wouldn't surprise me if people can't get in anymore.by Dianne 99 - Hockey
Bay Area Bon Jovi fans? - 16 years ago
Okay, this is waaaay off topic, but I've got two extra tickets to the Bon Jovi concert Wednesday night in San Jose. My friend has a conflict and his wife doesn't want to go without him. Are any of the Bay Area folks on ELF interested in them? $75 each; will sell individually or as a pair. I hate to post my work email online, but it's the quickest way to get in touch with me if you're interestby Dianne 99 - John Spencer Is Dead

Reposting for those in threaded view...I accidentally put this in the NYC thread. If there is anyone else living/working north of San Francisco, I'll be taking a late, extended lunch to watch the game at Beyond the Glory in Petaluma.by Dianne 99 - Other Sports

French RageJosh '99billhowardKeithKDianne 99Anybody know if Murray is back in the lineup? I'm going to tomorrow night's game. So far, I've yet to see Murray play a full game since he's been here due to various injuries or not being in the lineup. When I bought these tickets I was sure that I'd finally get to see him! I was wondering the same thing this afternoon so I checked the Sharks site loby Dianne 99 - Hockey
Re: Alumni in the Pros - February 2008 - 16 years ago
Hey, my friend Nichole bought the tickets and picked the date, so should we blame her instead? She only went to one or two games while at Cornell so maybe this is punishment for her being a bad hockey fan.by Dianne 99 - Hockey

Re: Alumni in the Pros - Douglas Murray - 16 years ago
Oh man, so close to working out for me! I've got tickets to the game on Feb. 14. Of course, my Cornell Murray jersey is already signed, so I guess I'm not really missing out on anything. For those in the area who aren't on the CAANC mailing list, I believe the CAANC and the U.Chicago club are co-hosting an event at the Sharks-Blackhawks game on Saturday. Re: Clarkson Viewing in Bay Area - 16 years ago
Well, I can offer my house in Cotati (North Bay) but you probably don't want to drive up from San Jose. Anyone else is welcome as well, but unless something has changed, I live pretty far away from most other Bay Area Cornell fans.by Dianne 99 - Hockey

Re: Cornell-Hahvahd - where to watch - 17 years ago
Yeah, Redwood City's too far for me to go on a Friday afternoon. I'd have to leave work at 2:30 to make it down there. I'll be watching this one at my house instead.by Dianne 99 - Hockey
Re: CSTV - call to complain last year, sue 'em this year? - 17 years ago
I've never actually been charged a cancellation fee and I've rarely kept the service for more than a month. Note that if you cancel mid-billing period, they usually charge the full monthly rate and then offer a pro-rated refund the next month so it still works out to less than $12. But really, I don't worry about it since I'd pay more than $12 for a ticket to the game.by Dianne 99 - Hockey
Re: New Forum Design - 17 years ago
I've noticed today that any new posts in the sticky threads show up as new posts in each forum. For example, when I logged on just now, this thread had three new posts, Other Sports advertised six new posts, but only three new non-sticky posts, and John Spencer had three new posts, but none outside the sticky thread. Did I explain that clearly? Is this just a problem for me, for me and other Fby Dianne 99 - Hockey
Re: New Forum Design - 17 years ago
I agree that more red would be nice, but this scheme is definitely easier on the eyes. Also, THANK YOU for putting the "new" tag on individual messages in flat view! It is much easier to quickly get to my last stopping point, particularly the 50+ post threads.by Dianne 99 - Hockey
Re: Sucks @ Cornell on Nov 10th to be broadcast on CSTV - 17 years ago
I've never had a problem adding and cancelling it online. However, if you sign up on the phone, they will try to commit you for a year. Last year I think I only had it for ~21 days, just long enough to cover all the playoffs, and it was prorated by month, so I paid ~$6 on two consecutive bills.by Dianne 99 - Hockey

MP3 trimming software needed - 17 years ago
I'm guessing there are a lot of people on this forum who are familiar with manipulating MP3s, so I'm hoping one of you can help me. I need to find a way to cut some music down to 1:40 for a skating routine, but I don't have any software to do it at the moment. Right now my only method is to record from CD to cassette tape on my stereo, which I'd rather not do. At some point I may need to splicby Dianne 99 - John Spencer Is Dead
Re: Embassy Inn on Dryden Rd.? - 17 years ago
I suspect this is the hotel my parents and I stayed at the night before I moved into the dorms freshman year (August '95), though it was definitely not owned by any chain at that time. If it is the same place, it's probably about 20 pts on your scale. I've never stayed at either the Hillside or hte Statler, but I did live next to the Hillside for a year and could see inside their windows. Anywby Dianne 99 - John Spencer Is Dead

Re: SF Bay Area (Redwood City) - 18 years ago
I'll offer up my house in the North Bay if there anyone else who lives up my way that doesn't want to (or can't, in my case) drive to Redwood City. Unfortunately I can only promise the Saturday game. Sunday, I will be on a plane to Birmingham at face-off.by Dianne 99 - Hockey

Call me a bad fan, but I can't resist the 12+ feet of powder Tahoe has gotten in the last two weeks...so I'll be on the slopes. My CU roomie (and fellow bandie) will be with me though, so maybe we'll find a place up there to watch the games.by Dianne 99 - Hockey

Here's a picture of three Koronis jerseys (modeled by me, andrea, and jy3). I don't have any close-ups of mine, but I can take some when I get home tonight if you want more detail. I could also attach a higher resolution version of this picture if that would help. This is the best I can do from work.by Dianne 99 - Hockey
Re: Questions for the Grammar Police... - 18 years ago
Thanks everyone for the input! It sounds like there isn't one absolute answer. These are excerpts from our daily air quality forecast discussions that we issue for several cities around the country. Some of our clients put these discussions on their websites or send them to local media, so we try very hard to be grammatically correct. Questions for the Grammar Police... - 18 years ago
My co-workers and I have had some debates in the last few weeks over a couple of grammar questions. Since we can't all come to a consensus, I thought I'd throw the questions out here for the eLynah Grammar Police to chime in on... 1) Which of the following statements uses "however" correctly? Or are both correct? In addition, high humidity will increase particle formation; howby Dianne 99 - John Spencer Is Dead
