Re: Alumni in the Pros -- Feb 2006 - 18 years ago
I was at the Sharks game on Saturday; Doug had several shifts in the first period, but nothing for the rest of the game. Since he didn't do anything stupid on the ice, I wondered if he might have some sort of injury that was keeping him out the rest of the game. At least I saw him play for a few minutes (~4:29 if I remember right).by Dianne 99 - Hockey
Re: Cornell - Colgate Viewing Parties - 18 years ago
Sounds good Roy, thanks for coordinating! I'm definitely interested in the Sharks game, so if anyone has time to look into tickets in advance (I don't), you can certainly get one for me. French Rage, I can pick you up on my way down and take you home afterward.by Dianne 99 - Hockey
Re: Cornell - Colgate Viewing Parties - 18 years ago
Roy, I'd be up for either of those options, assuming no one actually prefers to come to my place over one of these choices . I'd be much more willing to drive to Logitech if I could see the Sharks game as well; otherwise, I'd prefer Zeke's. Keep us posted!by Dianne 99 - Hockey

I was supposed to be at a conference in San Antonio, but now I'm not going, so I can host a gathering at my house in Sonoma County, CA, if anyone wants to drive up here.by Dianne 99 - Hockey

Nice mention of Murray. Still haven't made it to a game to see him play.by Dianne 99 - Hockey
Re: Cornell Jersey Sighting - 18 years ago
Didn't he break a stick over the net in frustration at the end of a game at Lynah one year? I seem to remember said stick "mysteriously" ending up in the band room...Josh, Scersk, does this ring a bell or is my brain making this up?by Dianne 99 - Hockey

You're not the only one...I've been at work and can't really getting away with chatting or listening/watching online. I appreciate these updates! However, I'm now on my way out so I won't need more updates until ~2100 PST.by Dianne 99 - Hockey

Rita, you beat me to it. I heard the interview on the radio as I drove home from work. I now have some motivation to get down to SJ for a game...by Dianne 99 - Hockey

I'm very late joining (or lurking, more accurately) but I'm Dianne in Petaluma, CA. I'm not listening to the game, so thanks for the updates!by Dianne 99 - Hockey

Re: CSTV shows CU at 10pm Fri - 19 years ago
Well, this West Coaster is going to try very hard to wait patiently for the televised game. The webcast isn't an option for me, so really, all I have to do is avoid ELF for the last hour I'm at work! I have (or will have by Friday) the Sports Pack on DirecTV so if anyone in the Bay Area needs a place to watch the game, you're welcome to come to my house. Beeeej, I had your email to the AZ Alumni Club forwarded to me by two different people, neither of whom reads this board, so I think your email harassment is working!by Dianne 99 - Hockey
Re: Vermont/Dartmouth Weekend - 19 years ago
Since the game thread was deleted before I knew it existed, can someone please post a brief summary of what happened and, because I'm too lazy to go to other sites, what the final score was? I've dedeuced that there were two majors called, one on Moulson, and that we lost or tied, but I need more info. I'm sure there are others like me who are just checking the forum today. Thanks!by Dianne 99 - Hockey

I didn't get a chace to talk to Murray much at the meet-and-greet, but he did say that he had skated that afternoon.by Dianne 99 - Hockey
Re: Alumni in the Pros Nov. '04 - 19 years ago
I agree with Keith and John, ugly game last night. However, it was nice to be able to see live hockey! It's probably the only game I'll get to see this year, so I'm not going to complain too much. Having said that, the power play was terrible (my friend and I agreed they were better off at full strength) and they really need to learn how to play against the boards. Regardless, it was great toby Dianne 99 - Hockey
Re: Cornell 1, Harvard 0 - 19 years ago
cornelldavy, you're not alone in SoCal. One of my friends is in grad school at UCLA, and I remember last year she went to watch the televised games with the LA Cornell Club. If you're not on their mailing list, you may want to check it out. Or come up here to NorCal and hang with us next week when we go see Murray play in San Jose!by Dianne 99 - Hockey
Re: Harvard Game Chat - 19 years ago
Um, no magic here in either IE or Netscape. I got "The Page Cannot be Displayed." Oh well, I'm going to head home soon anyway and follow the game from there.by Dianne 99 - Hockey
Re: Harvard Game Chat - 19 years ago
Is there a way to access the chat via the web? The link I used last year (irc.warped.net) does not work anymore. I don't think I should install an IRC client on my work computer...by Dianne 99 - Hockey

Re: Cornell/Harvard Game Watch in San Francisco this Friday - 19 years ago
I wish I could be there Joe, but I'd have to leave work at 3 (I'm in Petaluma) to get there and I just don't see that happening with all that I have going on this week. Thanks for the offer!by Dianne 99 - Hockey
Barons in San Jose - 19 years ago
If any other Bay Area fans are interested, Doug Murray will be playing at the Shark Tank Nov. 9. I'm planning to go; it's probably the only live hockey I'll get to see this year. Barons To Play In San Jose The San Jose Sharks will host an American Hockey League game at HP Pavilion on Tuesday, Nov. 9 at 7:30 p.m. PST. Re: churches in buffalo - 21 years ago
My friend and I are also hoping to get to mass somewhere Sunday morning. She found a church (can't remember which one) about a mile from our hotel. I'd suggest asking your hotel where the nearest one is. They usually know things like that at the desk. If you want to meet up with my friend and I, you're welcome to join us wherever we go.by Dianne 99 - Hockey
Re: Buffalo Roll Call - 21 years ago
Hey, one more question...what are people doing for last minute lodging? Obviously all the downtown hotels are booked. Is there some suburban place where a lot of folks are finding rooms? Are people staying by the airport? I really don't know the area so I'm not sure where to book a room. Also, what's the public transportation like? Seeing as I've already dropped a fair amount of cash on aby Dianne 99 - Hockey
Re: Buffalo Roll Call - 21 years ago
I'm there! Not sure of my exact seats (my friend had 6 tickets at one point, not sure which one I'm actually sitting in) but I think they're either 110 or 113. Will edit later when I find out for sure. Is there interest in having an ELF gathering sometime? I'd love to meet some of you to put faces with names.by Dianne 99 - Hockey
Re: Game videos available - 21 years ago
Whew, I'm away from a computer for a day and a half and look what happens...I gather by all the discussion no one needs my tapes? For whomever was looking for the post-game celebration, I actually have that on it's own tape. My first tape was about full with the semi and the final, so I popped in a new one for OT. I can send this or both tapes to someone.by Dianne 99 - Hockey
Game videos available - 21 years ago
Hi all, Someone posted about this yesterday but I can't find the original thread. I've got a tape (or will in about twenty minutes, assuming no OT) of both Cornell games this weekend. I will happily mail it to whomever wants it, although I'd prefer it go to someone with the capability of making copies for those who want them. Email me if interested.
