Re: Links to free audio broadcasts by Cornell's opponents - 21 years ago
To quote from the FAQ for internet broadcasting: Why are you charging for access to live game audio while other schools still have free audio? We believe that most colleges and universities will be using some form of subscription product for their multimedia content by the start of the next school year. We decided to shift into this model now rather than later. By making the transition now, we cby jnachod - Hockey
Statistics - 22 years ago
I went and had a little fun playing around with statistics from this season in MS Excel and I noticed a few interesting trends. First, it seems that 3 is an unlucky number for us. All of our losses this season came when we scored 0 goals or 3 goals during the game: Second, I calculated a couple averages, and again the trend is disturbing: Our average score for the games we won was 3.79 (nby jnachod - Hockey
Article from Albany, NY Paper (Times Union) about RPI game - 22 years ago
This article is pretty good I think. Source: Engineers steamrolled by a Big Red machine By BUZZ GRAY, Special to the Times Union First published: Saturday, March 16, 2002 LAKE PLACID -- Too much forechecking. Too much discipline. Just too much red. That's what the Engineers of RPI were up against when they faced Cornell in a semifinal matchup in the ECAC hockey championships Friday nightby jnachod - Hockey
Re: Lake Placid Games on TimeWarner - 22 years ago
Yeah true. But some people might not leave until Saturday because of transportation issues. Also people might be interested in this if they're not going to be able to go to Lake Placid and they want to tape the games to watch later.by jnachod - Hockey
Lake Placid Games on TimeWarner - 22 years ago
I talked with a customer service person at the Ithaca Time Warner cable today and she said that the Lake Placid games will be broadcast on cable channel 77 in Ithaca. For those of you who are unfortunate to only have access to the bare bones version of cable (channels 2-23) such as those of you in Cornell dorms, you will be able to get this channel!by jnachod - Hockey

At the issue room in Teagle Hall you can buy jerseys for $100. I'm sure you can probably do better than that.by jnachod - Hockey

I am getting SICK of popup ads on the Internet. I don't need to be told how to go to online gambling casinos, how to save money on my long distance bills, how to spy on people with the x10 video camera, and whatever else they think I'm interested in. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on minimizing or removing popups entirely.by jnachod - Hockey

Re: UVM Hockey Radio Feed - 22 years ago
Although it's not a problem for me, being in Ithaca, It's always good to have a backup source... often times Internet radio stations don't work that well.by jnachod - Hockey

Re: YUCK...WE LOST - 22 years ago
According to the Bradley Terry ratings (http://slack.net/~whelan/tbrw/2002/ecac.rrwp.shtml) we had an 81.3% chance of beating Dartmouth in any given game. Furthermore, we were expected to have 1.7 scoring points against us for the rest of the regular season, and we got 2 tonight with the loss. Unfortunately, tonight happened to be one of Dartmouth's lucky days. Hopefully this will be it for thby jnachod - Hockey
Re: Promotion of this site - 22 years ago
Speaking of etiquette, a lot of people just don't seem to get it this year, particularly in sections D and E. You don't jingle your keys when you're not in the lead at that given moment. People in the Yale game didn't seem to know this... perhaps because they'd been so used to Cornell winning all the recent previous games that they might have thought key ringing was automatic.by jnachod - Hockey

The Lynah forum might be a better place if more people participated in it. I realize that most, if not all of these require spending money, but I think there should be an effort to promote the forum using one or more of the following mechanisms: 1) an advertisement in the Cornell Daily Sun 2) a pa announcement at one of the games at Lynah Rink It might go something like this: Hey Cornell Hockby jnachod - Hockey
Re: Quotes on Lynah from Visiting Players - 22 years ago
An article from the Princeton newspaper can be found here: The best quote in my opinion is: "We just couldn't finish," Parsons added. "They are a great team, and that's a tough place to play. But this game was about capitalizing on mistakes. They did it. We didn't."by jnachod - Hockey
