Re: Ned Harkness to be honored at RPI - 17 years ago
billhowardHonoring Harkness during the Cornell game would remind RPI faithful about how they lost a good coach because they were paying him such a pittance. Sports Illustrated said it was because they were too far from Canada.by Swampy - Hockey

CU at StanfordWho scored the 3rd Cornell goal? GameTracker, as usual, is useless in the final minutes. Kennedyby Swampy - Hockey

Re: Harvard at Cornell - 1-1 after one - 17 years ago
Looks as if we were outplayed during the period. Game Tracker says shots were 10 to 2 in favor of Harvard. Is anyone out there either watching the game on TV or at Lynah? If so, what was it like?by Swampy - Hockey

Jeff Hopkins '82SwampykaarenPlease keep those updates coming. I'm without TV access and All Access says, "I'm not signed up for this content." LGR!!! Try Game Tracker Game tracker is doing its usual "stuck at the same place for twenty minutes" routine. I know, but beggars can't be choosers.by Swampy - Hockey

Ranking programs is not an exact science, but what're the standard errors for these estimates?by Swampy - Hockey
Re: Cornell-Hahvahd - Northern New Jersey - 17 years ago
Does anyone know a place to watch in Southern New England? All we get here is Cox Cable, and Cox doesn't carry CSTV. Perhaps this is because Cox doesn't want its name mixed up with Sucks, for obvious reasons. Nonetheless, Cox carries the Jewelry channel, something with Church Lady 24/7, and all manner of other crap. This leads one to conclude that, Sucks or not, Cox itself sucks. Re: Brown - 17 years ago
Steve RockeyI am going to the Brown game. Any suggestions on where to eat before the game or where to grab a drink after the game. --Steve There's a decent fish place (McCormick and Schmick's) across from Kennedy Plaza in the Biltmore Hotel. There's also a decent, inexpensive Indian place in the food court of the Providence Place Mall. Thayer Street, near Brown, is like Collegetown, with loby Swampy - Hockey
Re: Polls Oct. 23 - 17 years ago
ithacatRIT breaks into the polling scene for the first time in their short history. Notre Dame's hot. 6 games already for some teams... Is the reason Notre Dame has different rankings in the two polls because its record is different in each of them?by Swampy - Hockey
Re: Thanks, Hillel - 17 years ago
Al DeFlorioRichHIf memory serves me, Cornell took a 1-goal lead with 8 minutes left and then held the defending national champions (and #1 or 2 ranked team?) off the scoreboard for 8 excruciatingly long minutes. For some reason lacrosse minutes go by much more slowly than hockey minutes. Maybe because when someone shoots at the goal the odds are high they'll get the ball back and be able to do iby Swampy - Other Sports
Re: How to gain acceptance to an Ivy League school! - 18 years ago
TrotskySection A BansheeThis is why crappy undergraduate work shouldn't get #*$(ing published. In Cornell writing courses, we're taught not to write tripe. They must have improved quite a lot, then. We were taught to dredge up positive observations after each poor shlub in turn made their daily diffusion of dull, derivative drivel. Nobody under 35* should write fiction; they're fetuses.by Swampy - John Spencer Is Dead
Re: INCH '07 Top 10 - 18 years ago
Al DeFlorioMost importantly, over time INCH has demonstrated beyond doubt they collectively don't know shit from shinola. Oh, behave! Consider this article about the AJHL and its four players who will be playing D-I next year: . The league's 2005-06 co-MVP and the NY Junior Bobcats' all-time leading scorer must be shinola, because they sure don't know shit.by Swampy - Hockey
Re: LeNeveu-Eliot comparison - 18 years ago
RichHJacob '06You guys could all start up a foundation and start the Ken Dryden National Goaltender Trophy. I'm pretty sure the Hobey Baker is run by a foundation completely independent of the NCAA. The statue which could be used already exists: The one thing this doesn't tell you is that it's a statue of Dryden in the middle of a game! It's a classic Dryden pose on those Cornell and Canaby Swampy - Hockey
