Re: Davenport Has Left the Team - 19 years ago
what i ment to say was that he must be feeling at least confadent in his spot on the team as he hasnt left yet, and is now the #2 man again, where i think he should be. Its a one man campain that i've run for the last 2 years that depth wise, Louis Chabot is better than the 'faithfull' (faithless) will give him credit for. yet another notch in the belt for chabot then. hope he has fun in juniors.by The Rancor - Hockey
Re: PWR volatile, Cornell -> #8t - 19 years ago
gotta say that i'm more than a little worried about this team. they have all the talent in the world, but they seem to be pussyfooting around a lot this year. when they play with confidence and hit hard- they win. when they don't, well, you all have seen the results. this team, week in and out, has the respect of the pollsters and all opponents, but still hasn't proven that they are 'for real'. iby The Rancor - Hockey

this guy is the worst. i dont care for his previews on USCHO. he obviously has anti Cornell bias, and cant be bothered to report accurately. blah.by The Rancor - Hockey

Re: Scheduling on USCHO - 19 years ago
"My philosophy is that I won't play anyone who won't reciprocate," said Cornell head coach Mark Schafer. "Unless you can play a program both home and away, you're giving up something. Every school faces the same problem of wanting to face good schools to improve their own program. So they all want to get as many games at home as possible. Teams that do reciprocate help college hockby The Rancor - Hockey
Re: McGill game thoughts? - 19 years ago
Great Game. Focus on following through on scoring chances and controling the pace of the game. lots more speed than i expected, and can i say that Chabot made 4 key saves? way to go.by The Rancor - Hockey

Murray picked up his first goal of the year, and 3 penalties, in a loss tonight Bâby also grabbed goal #1 and a stick for a trip to the box in a Chicago win JMP lost for Utah after stopping 30, allowing 5 edit: one goal against JMP came courtesy of Ithaca native Dustin Brown.by The Rancor - Hockey
Re: Red White game - 19 years ago
hard to tell, as none of the goalies were seriously tested. biggest pads of any goalie i've seen in a while. made some nice saves in the shoot out as did Chabot... who is the real #2 is the question. the CHA newsletter quoted the Coach as saying that Troy and David would be battling for starting duties, but somehow I doubt that.by The Rancor - Hockey
Re: Red White game - 19 years ago
I'd have to respectfully disagree... all he did was hold the puck and play with it at the blue line, with no resulting movement... or quality shots. there seems to be some hesitation on his part, as well as the rest of the big red to pull the trigger. saw a lot of this last season too. another .02by The Rancor - Hockey
Red White game - 19 years ago
Not nearly as exciting as I would have liked. The team is big this season, bigger than any I can remember seeing. They seemed slow and as usual they didn’t take very many shots. All three goalies looked good and I was more impressed by the 5 nameless players who I can only assume are on the practice squad. best mullet since Jager. WOW. Speaking of mullets... looks like Iggulden and Moulson havby The Rancor - Hockey

Fuhr on LeNeveu - 19 years ago
Question – How much do you know about goaltender David LeNeveu, who was an American Hockey League All-Star last year? Grant Fuhr – I only know a little about David LeNeveu thus far, but I hear he is a very good goalie with a lot of potential. I am looking forward to seeing David play a lot this coming season and make sure he continues to develop. I will learn more about David as we move aby The Rancor - Hockey
Re: Next year's line-up - 19 years ago
no doubt that McKee is #1 and will start every game as long as he is healthy, working hard adn is not overshadowed by any of the other goalies in practice (not likely) Marr last year was the clear #2, and if he had not been injured early in the season... we will never know that what if. and for the record, thank the maker that he was. Besides, he was a transfer from Northeastern andnway, not aby The Rancor - Hockey
Re: Next year's line-up - 19 years ago
no one has seen this kid,adn he wasnty nearly as impressive in the junior league as, say, another cornell junior he is competing with for net time and his name don't start with david! still waiting for all you Chabot haters to prove to me that Schafer hates him. untill then, i'm sticking next to the philosophy that he wouldnt be here if he didnt have a chance. goalie depth: 1McKee 2Chabot 3by The Rancor - Hockey

Re: What's with the poor out of conference schedule? - 19 years ago
the only problem that i see with the schedule is that it is too heavily weighted on Atlantic Hockey. I would like to see us playing teams from all the conferences. Its great to have 2 vs CCHA (state) and we will (only) play either one WCHA (scsu) and one Hockey East, or two Hockey East teams (BU and Maine), all of which are of high caliber. agreed it would be better to have 3 WCHA opponents onby The Rancor - Hockey
Re: [OT] Ithaca questions - 19 years ago
my thoughts exactly. thank you. c-town is fun, especaly if you are 20, but i wouldnt want to live there again. over priced does not begin to tell the tale.by The Rancor - Hockey
