Hobey Baker Rink question

Hobey Baker Rink question

I'm thinking of going to the Cornell game at Princeton on 2/11/05. Does anyone know the best way to get tickets (through Princeton vs. through Cornell's allocation)? If the former, is there a visiting team section that is better to sit in?

There are usually so many Cornellians at the game at Princeton that it doesn't really matter where you sit. Plus, the rink is pretty small (USCHO says it seats 2100, but it fells smaller than that) so it's hard to feel too separated anyway.

Princeton isn't going to sell out unless Cornell folks buy up all the tickets, so it's probably not hard to get tix through them. Also, they sell plenty of standing room seats on the day of the game, so I don't think there's much of a problem getting in.

Last year, when I called them a couple of weeks before the game, they told me there were only singles left. Even so, there were plenty of empty seats.

They put the band in the southest corner of the rink (S-8 I think). If you get a ticket in S-5 through S-7 or in the lower east sections behind the goal, you'll be with the Faithful. And nobody worries about seat assignments among us.

See you there!

They pretty much sell as much standing room as they need the night of the game. You can just walk up if you don't mind standing.

Just don't stay at Jerseygirl's house 'cause she won't turn up the heat and you'll freeze your toches off... ;-)

If you wanted Jerseygirl to turn the heat up, you could have paid Jerseygirl's $200/month heating bill, because she couldn't afford it...of course, the Holland Tunnel Inn was right down the road.

Is there Talmudic law on the correct spelling when rendered in goyische English? Tukas maybe? Toochis? Perhaps toches but with an umlaut?

Here's the experience of the past five years attending games at Princeton:

The Cornell Club of NJ (and possibly Philadelphia) have an allocation. They typically sell out. Tickets may be availble from Princeton a month in advance.

The week of the game, they'll tell you it's a sellout but they tell you you can buy standing room. Standing room is always available and will be unless by some miracle Bill Bradley is reincarnated as a hockey player and regains eligibility.

Of the ~2,000 seats in Baker Rink, there will be 250 to 500 available at gametime and if you're so inclined and a little bit aggressive, you can be in the Cornell attacking zone each period, sometimes even rinkside.

Essentially this is a home game for Cornell.
