Cornell 1 - Dartmouth 2 I agree. We'll have a lot of trouble making it through this weekend without picking up our first ECAC loss.by dbilmes - Hockey

canuck89 Wrote: I am interested in purchasing ~5 tickets for the Niagara game in Rochester. Does anybody here know if that game is all sold out, and if not, where/how do I get tickets?? Thanks. We ordered tickets through the Cornell ticket office. However, that was some weeks ago and there's no sign of them... That way, at least, we'd be with Cornell people.by dbilmes - Hockey

Re: Cornell 4 @ Yale 2 post-game thread (11/4) - 18 years ago
1) Yes, we definitely did. I think it was the second goal that happened right after we returned to full strength. We'd had the puck on our stick and couldn't clear the zone a few seconds earlier. Yale regained possession, and boom. 2) Mugford was good. I didn't notice him too much, though. 3) I thought we were doing OK with that, but I didn't have a good view of all the action in the thirdby dbilmes - Hockey
Re: Cornell @ Yale Game thread - 18 years ago
at no point did I see any Cornellians actually throw blows I was at the opposite end of the rink, but I thought I saw some Cornell players throw punches. One Yale player was ejected, but it just seemed clear that Yale was gunning for a fight the entire third period. I agree about the officiating. The first period, any contact led to a whistle. The second, there were no whistles. One can onlby dbilmes - Hockey
Re: Cornell @ Yale Game thread - 18 years ago
This was just an ugly game to watch. The officiating was brutal. Just the constant stream of penalties for the first half of the game... Neither team could get anything going in 5 on 5 action. CU had a ton of chances on the powerplays early, especially after the first goal. I'd have loved to see us capitalize on one of those to grab the 2-0 lead. I think we could've pulled away after that.by dbilmes - Hockey

Joe Scali will attend Cornell University in Utica, New York. Scali will join former Bulldog in Doug Krantz currently earning his degree and playing for the Cornell Big Red in the ECAC. He's got another year to figure out how to get here....by dbilmes - Hockey

Re: Get with it Section B!!! - 18 years ago
We have tix (through the South. Conn. Cornell Club) for the Yale game. We'll be there next to the band again with signs and newspapers for the relatively docile CT faithful... Edit: We'll also be at Rochester.by dbilmes - Hockey
Re: Get with it Section B!!! - 18 years ago
FWIW, an excerpt from the USCHO article on the exhibition game: Aggressive play, penalties and a raucous Lynah student section, gave the Cornell Big Red's home opener against the U.S. Under-18 team the feel of a mid-season conference rivalry, rather than a mere warm up for No. 2 ranked Cornellby dbilmes - Hockey

Re: MSU CORNELL - 18 years ago
Section B is pretty crucial because of its proximity to the opposing goalie for 2 periods and its angle on the face-offs for distraction. Even if D and the others end up being the louder ones this year, Lynah still needs the B'ers to do some of the basic stuff.by dbilmes - Hockey
