Re: Hahvahd 3 @ Cornell 1 Postgame - 16 years ago
TrotskyYou know what I mean. The team should average more than 2 gpg, not just those core players. When Patrick Kennedy puts on some more muscle and gets more experienced, he will become a scoring threat. By then, of course, Riley will be Edmonton... I don't think this team has the offensive talent to average more than two goals a game within the system that they play. After Fontas, Scaliby calgARI '07 - Hockey

Trotsky For a team with more high end offensive talent (Riley, Greening, Michael Kennedy) than any since the F4 team, it's amazing they do no better than, at most, 2 goals against a good opponent. That's their tragic flaw, although frankly from the energy they generated on O and all the giveaways in their own zone, I'd have guessed they would have lost the Harvard game 6-4 rather than 3-1. FWIW, I think Cornell has a better shot going to Albany by playing Union on the road than they would have playing Harvard at home.by calgARI '07 - Hockey

Donato takes another round against Schafer. Schafer was obsessed with line matching tonight to the point where shifts lasted 10-15 seconds each and his fourth line was on the ice more than any other. Truly fascinating how Greening and Nash - far and away the two best offensive players on the team see the ice every fourth shift for 20-25 seconds. As long as Schafer can get his matchups, none ofby calgARI '07 - Hockey

Pretty lateral in terms of Sjostrom for Hossa. Both pretty ineffective players with scoring touch. Interestingly, 3 former first round picks and one former 2nd go in this deal - all four have been busts to this point. Gratton is a Holweg type with a little bit ability to get around the ice. Not sure what the point in bringing him in is either.by calgARI '07 - Hockey
LeNeveu Traded To Rangers - 16 years ago
In a five player deal that has Montoya going the other way. The other Hossa was moved to Phoenix with Josh Gratton and Freddie Sjostrom headed to New York.by calgARI '07 - Hockey
Re: gate 3 - Q 3 Third - 16 years ago
Jim HylaSo what's the tiebreaker for 3 teams tied? Is it still record against eac other. In which case a Q tie doesn't help us much. edit: I'm wrong the wins against Q puts us ahead of them, since they only tied Union once, and have losses otherwise. Well isn't just overall wins the first tie-breaker which Cornell has on both Quinnipiac and Union.by calgARI '07 - Hockey

Jim HylaI'm working OK now. Snow must have kept everyone away. Tons of empty seats. Kept me and the nine others I was planning to go with away. I'm 45 minutes east of Hamden.by calgARI '07 - Hockey

ugarte If you know something, say something - hell, even say that you know something but aren't at liberty to divulge the details. On the other hand, if you know nothing, please, STFU. Therein lies the issue. I can't say I know something and not divulge the details because it hurts some peoples' feelings as we have seen in the past and in this thread so some have to walk a fine line as it coby calgARI '07 - Hockey

ugarte Actually, when Keith asked what bandit1 meant by "troubled," Ari responded by insinuating that it was true without using any qualifier. Then he decided that his keyboard probably wrote a check that his ass is unable or unwilling to cash. Or maybe my keyboard decided that it was not in the mood to deal with a flame war by people unwilling to acknowledge that anything associatedby calgARI '07 - Hockey

FWIW, I am not insinuating something for sure happened that made O'Byrne leave late in the summer only that it was very curious that he did leave late in the summer.by calgARI '07 - Hockey

Re: St. Lawrence post-game - 16 years ago
Pretty clear that the team only prepared to play one game this weekend. Schafer said as much when he said they spent all week on Clarkson and they would worry about St. Lawrence on Saturday.by calgARI '07 - Hockey
Re: Cornell 0 St. Lawrence 4 (2nd) - 16 years ago
Great job by Schafer who admittedly said they just focused on Clarkson this week. Pretty clear that was the case.by calgARI '07 - Hockey

Re: New Recruit for '08 - 16 years ago
ursusminorChris Heisenberg lists a new recruit, Sean Collins a LW for the Waywayseecappo Wolverines (MJHL). Heisenberg lists him as 6'3" 190lb, Wayway lsits him as 6'0" 185lb. Edit: Last year 59-21-35-56-22 (from Heisenberg) This year 49-36-51-87-28 (from MJHL site) Wow, the third Sean Collins of the last 7 years in college hockey. The first was a stud for New Hampshire and oby calgARI '07 - Hockey

The part I don't understand is that a ton of guys in CIAU played in the CHL which of course makes them ineligible to play in the NCAA.by calgARI '07 - Hockey

Re: BU Postgame - 16 years ago
oceanst41I'm pretty sure that Roeszler's replacement had not stepped onto the ice yet, I'm assuming since the bench had a clear view that the puck had been passed to him. Either way this is a pretty poor example of communication, either someone didn't know there was a line change taking place or Roeszler wasn't aware he had been passed to. I'm sure whoever was gong on for him (I think it was Baby calgARI '07 - Hockey
Re: BU Postgame - 16 years ago
Game reminded me of the 06 ECAC Final against Harvard. No attention to detail and mentally poor all over the ice. It wasn't that the team didn't work hard, it was just that they were not well-prepared. It's gotta be a weird experience playing in that environment tonight and it wasn't shocking that at least one of the two teams came out like a deer in headlights. Cornell is a hard-working teby calgARI '07 - Hockey
Re: Alumni in the Pros - November 2007 - 16 years ago
Doug Murray just beat Chris Pronger on a faceoff to start overtime. It was 3-on-3 so each team only had one forward out and each got kicked out of the dot.by calgARI '07 - Hockey
