Discussions about the Cornell men's and women's hockey teams
Re: Cornell-Harvard postgame - 19 years ago
Random belated thoughts on the Championship game after being there in person and watching the rebroadcast on CSTV: - G-M played an impressive game. The only thing he misplayed was the third goal. Cook’s shot went right into the heart of the net b/c G-M’s lateral move was excessive. But Cornell had been peppering him for a while by then and the Cornell pp was working like a well oiled machiby JasonN95 - Hockey

Re: Anyone see ND/WI last night? - 19 years ago
I watched. It was an entertaining game and both teams are clearly skilled. But I wasn’t left feeling like Cornell couldn’t compete with them. However, if had I watched that game before the 2002-3 season I would have thought the same. The last few Cornell seasons have led me to believe that smart, defensively-sound play can neutralize speed. And I thought some of the goals given up resulted frby JasonN95 - Hockey

Re: Hobey Finalists... - 19 years ago
That's because someone on the NMU v Fairbanks score thread at USCHO posted the link to the announcement. I'm guessing NMU folks are seeing it there and then proceeding to vote.by JasonN95 - Hockey

Re: Cornell 5 Clarkson 0 postgame thread - 19 years ago
I'm comfortable with the team taking the "series" approach to the salute and saving it until the end of this weekend, especially given how last year's quarterfinal matchup with Clarkson went. One great thing is that the team does the salute win or lose. Arguably the most moving salute I personally was part of was the one after the '96 NCAA first round loss to Lake Superior in Albany. XMIevents archives - 19 years ago
Has any season pass holder been able to watch the archives? When I try to, WMP reports that it cannot find the file. I missed the "text book" goal number two against RPI and all of the Union game, so I'm anxious to get those archives to work.by JasonN95 - Hockey

Any chance one of the computer savy locals who Tivo'd/taped the game can video capture the winning goal and make it available on the web? Please? Pretty please?by JasonN95 - Hockey
Re: Quest for #1 seed - 19 years ago
Quick! Look before it changes! As of 10:30 EST, 2/4/05, Cornell is tied for 2nd in the pairwise. Can we cancel the rest of the season for all teams and just go with this?by JasonN95 - Hockey
The Feb 2 '05 Hockey News - 19 years ago
The February 2nd Hockey News has one page of NCAA coverage with a short column for each of the four major conferences. The ECAC one is about McKee and his streak of consecutive starts. Turns out he's very close (knock-on-wood) to breaking the school record held by Laing Kennedy '63 (56 games). The article doesn't appear available online.by JasonN95 - Hockey

Re: RIT to go D-I - 19 years ago
The rink in Pittsfield is in the Boy's Club ...and on the second floor! (The only rink I knew growing up that wasn't on the ground floor --apparently it was added to the plans after construction had started. Chelsea Piers Rink in NYC is also not on the ground floor --how's that for useless trivia!)by JasonN95 - Hockey
Re: Harvard Football Fans agree... - 19 years ago
The harvardsucks.org and pantheon.yale.edu versions are indeed doctored to improve legibility. Look at the bottom edge of the U and C --those are *identical* rows of white cards. Another example: look at the left edge of the S, in the harvardsucks version there is an identical cluster of three white cards (one above two forming a small, slightly scewed to the right, triangle) that appears twice.by JasonN95 - Hockey

Actually, Cornell does (or at least has in the past --my experience being the two BU games at Lynah a couple years back) up the sale of standing room tickets and allow you to take unclaimed seats.by JasonN95 - Hockey

The photo that accompanies the article shows a couple people wearing "Puck Harvard" shirts, but I don't see any F-bombs. I suspect the Crimson *cough* journalist *cough* is bending the truth (it's not really presented as a serious peice, anyway).by JasonN95 - Hockey
