Discussions about the Cornell men's and women's hockey teams
Re: Cornell - BU pregame (Stout, 5PM) - 16 years ago
The Molly Wee Pub is excellent for pregame. It's rather small but they serve pretty quickly and the beer selection is very good. Basic grub including several items of Irish fare.by Rich S - Hockey
Re: Cornell/BU Thanksgiving (11/24) Ticket Info - 16 years ago
BeeeejCornell is now saying the game is actually, genuinely sold out, all 18,200 seats. So it just remains to be seen whether the arena will be full, or the sidewalk in front of it full of annoyed scalpers. I'm hoping for the former. Capacity at MSG for hoops is 18,200. For hockey, it's 17,500. I've been told that additional tickets will be available the day of the game. Not sure iby Rich S - Hockey
Re: ECAC Scores 10/20 - 16 years ago
Slu could not hold a 3-0 lead and lost. I don't see the loss can be attributed to a "spoon-feeding" by the officials. It was an intensely played rivalry game. Cornell fans are very familiar with how those battles experience an ebb and flow.by Rich S - Hockey
Re: ECAC Scores 10/20 - 16 years ago
sah67Tech over SLU(t) 5-4 in ot in a victory that was apparently spoon-fed to Clarkson by John Murphy after SLU(t) led 3-1 near the end of the 2nd "spoon-fed?" based on what?by Rich S - Hockey
Re: 12,000 tickets sold? - 16 years ago
the number sold according to MSG ealier this week was much less. Whatever, a sell out or close to it would be great. I hope to get my tix tom'w night at MSG. With a discount...supposedly.by Rich S - Hockey
Re: HARVARD SUCKS - 16 years ago
"Not at all. I could go into extensive detail on why you suck individually, but alas the day is short, and I've got work to do and hours to bill. Reviving this thread was merely quick and convenient." The above is the post I was "critiquing" and it was neither about Clarkson nor was it "tongue-in-cheek." As you well know, work sometimes gets in the way of diverby Rich S - Hockey

BeeeejNot at all. I could go into extensive detail on why you suck individually, but alas the day is short, and I've got work to do and hours to bill. Reviving this thread was merely quick and convenient. I see that you're in mid-season form.by Rich S - Hockey
Re: Cornell section at MSGarden? - 16 years ago
Surely you aren't putting Everblades fans in the same category as Rangers season ticket holders. Not sure were you get that "scent of urine" thing from but it would have been more appropriately applied to Bruins' fans at the old Boston Garden or currently to the Nassau Coliseum. I wasn't suggesting that NYR fans getting free tix but I thought they'd offer a ticket promotion to seaby Rich S - Hockey
Re: Cornell section at MSGarden? - 16 years ago
As a Ranger season ticket holder, I assure you that we aren't getting tickets for free. In fact, and I find this just a bit surprising, there has been no promotion for the game directly to Rangers' season ticket holders. The reason is that MSG is not producing the game; the competing schools are as I understand it. I hope to get there.by Rich S - Hockey
Re: Stanley Cup at Colgate - 16 years ago
Exactly! But for those who aren't familiar with either Potsdam or that strange form of a contraction, I fixed the post. Typing is clearly not my forte.by Rich S - Hockey
Re: Stanley Cup at Colgate - 16 years ago
Erik Cole to the 'Cup to the North Country during summer '06. I think it was at his summer home which is up there, not far from Potsdam but I'm not exactly sure where. There were photos on the website for several months but not sure if the link is still up. I'll check. Very cool to see the Cup has been in several places Upstate New York.by Rich S - Hockey
Re: Luke Galvin out, Paul Stewart in - 16 years ago
Cute. But not likely given his Ivy roots. Seriously now, Stewie is a quality guy who overcame an illness to resume a solid career as an NHL official. I think he'll add some much-needed credibility, and hopefully improved quality to the officiating in the league. I had the chance to meet him when travelling with the Clarkson team in Philly in '74, when he had left the Penn team and wasby Rich S - Hockey
Re: Romano will not be back next year - 16 years ago
Yes it was clear. Ruff pointed that out a few times during post game interviews.by Rich S - Hockey
Re: 2007-08 fan wishlist - 17 years ago
I'd definitely be in favor of that change and I know a lot of other fans who would agree. Is that determined by agreement of the ADs or by Steve Hagwell?by Rich S - Hockey
Re: Caption Contest #7 - 17 years ago
If you're so irked that the ECAC wasn't better represented, perhaps you should be beating on Schafer.by Rich S - Hockey
Re: An old friend... - 17 years ago
RatushnyFanRich SSame dumpster where Fat Mike gets his donuts. He needs to find the "One and Done" donut chain that slender George frequents. Didn't you know that Potsdam is the state capital for high quality donuts? No chain for Coach Roll. I can only guess that Schafer's perpetual lack of a smile is due to the poor quality of donuts he eats. They must be garbage, right out of tby Rich S - Hockey
Re: 2007-08 fan wishlist - 17 years ago
I believe that the game times are standard for all ECAC teams. It's unlikely that cornell alone could make the change to 7 30 pm.by Rich S - Hockey

WillBeeeejAnd I'm right 'cause I'm a lawyer!! Yes, yes, we know. You arrogant bastard. get it right. He's a "pompous ass."by Rich S - Hockey

Re: "And Then There Was One" - 17 years ago
Josh '99calgARI '07Pretty impressive showing by the ECAC. Their teams have scored 1 goal in the last 11 periods they have played in the NCAA Tournament. I thought this conference was making progress but it just looks like Atlantic Hockey catching up rather than the ECAC catching up with anyone. So Clarkson choked in the NCAAs. That's news? They played hard and pretty well against an underrateby Rich S - Hockey
Re: An old friend... - 17 years ago
Nickerson left college h ockey three years ago. Is their a point to still bashing the guy? It's tiresome and pointless. Seems that with cornell not in the NCAAs, you guys have too much time on your hands.by Rich S - Hockey

Re: "Spirit of Big Red is missed" - 17 years ago
We truly appreciate the support Jim. I think fans of the Green and Gold showed again last week that we truly have spirit. Keep the candy though. I'd hate to see us get blamed for that throwing thing.by Rich S - Hockey
Re: Complaining Early About the Fall 2007 Ticket Line - 17 years ago
BeeeejBen Rocky 04Thank the Flying Spaghetti Monster that you went to law school and possess all knowledge. I was a professional fundraiser for universities for eight years, Rocky McSmarmy. I've explained at great length on this board two or three times before why this kind of idea won't work. Feel free to do a search for it, I'm going to bed. EDIT: (Have you ever noticed, btw, that it's nby Rich S - Hockey
Re: "Spirit of Big Red is missed" - 17 years ago
That might be a bit of an overstatement since so many people complain that there's nothing to do and nowhere to go out in Albany. When I was there in '04, most folks just "left" aver the games, not even headed to the bars. The hotels and motels got a boost but not too many other businesses.by Rich S - Hockey
Re: ECAC's New logo - 17 years ago
too much red and white. And where's a touch of Green and Gold?by Rich S - Hockey
Re: ECACHL scores 3/16 - Q v. SLU - 17 years ago
Any word on what the crowd size is? I had to cancel going because of the storm and road conditions betw NJ and Albany. Have to think crowd is reduced as weather will be worse later.by Rich S - Hockey
