Re: Everblades in NYC and/or DC - 19 years ago
It seems as if Fran O'Brien's Steakhouse does not get CSTV (at least that's what the manager told me). So that's a no go for watching the Everblades in DC. I think I've pretty much decided to head on up to NYC in time to meet up at Ship of Fools. I have heard that a pub called the Stained Glass Pub in Wheaton has DirecTV. I haven't called them, but that might be someplace that those in the DCby RedAR - Hockey

If I get myself back to NY in time, then I will definitely be at the Ship of Fools.by RedAR - Hockey
Re: Everblades in NYC and/or DC - 19 years ago
It seems as if the Cornell Club of Washington showed last year's Lynah East game at Fran O'Briens Steakhouse. Does anyone know anything about this place? I think someone should take the lead and call around to see which place is willing to put on the game for us in the DC area. I am more than willing to, but I'm not a local, and so don't know which bars are good and/or convenient for most folkby RedAR - Hockey
Re: Cornell's Hockey Treadmill - 19 years ago
Roy, if you go to cstv.com, they have a link to the video clip using Windows Media Player. Maybe that will work better for you.by RedAR - Hockey
Jessiman interview - 19 years ago
cstv.com also has an interview with Hugh Jessiman. Former voice of the Big Red Adam Wodon is one of the interviewers.by RedAR - Hockey
Cornell's Hockey Treadmill - 19 years ago
The CSTV website has a video of a skating treadmill pioneered by Cornell. Kevin McLeod, Ed Kelly, and Mike Schafer comment. It only cost $100,000.by RedAR - Hockey
Everblades in NYC and/or DC - 19 years ago
Not sure where I'll be during the tournament, either NYC or DC, but was wondering if there were any plans to gather to watch in either of these places.by RedAR - Hockey
Re: Lynah East DVD, and donations - 19 years ago
To all those who emailed me recently, I will be sending out the DVD. If you wish to do so, please send donations directly to whichever Cornell Hockey related entity (eLynah, Pep Band, Red Line, etc.). For eLynah donations, there's obviously the PayPal link. To donate to the Pep Band, the checks should be made out to "Cornell Pep Band" and sent to: Cornell Pep Band Teagle Hallby RedAR - Hockey
Re: Lynah East DVD, and donations - 19 years ago
Hi all, The Lynah East DVD from last year is FINALLY ready to ship. Sorry for the long delay. This time around, I don't want to make any promises about when the other two games will be ready (and the ending of one of the two games were cut off). So, if you're interested in getting your hands on just the Lynah East DVD, I still encourage you to make a donation. Email me with subject "by RedAR - Hockey
Re: INCH / ESPN Poll - 19 years ago
if nothing else, the incredible volatility (teams routinely moving up or down 5-10 spots or greater from week to week) of the INCH Polls indicates that their polls are pretty much useless.by RedAR - Hockey
Re: Humbling Weekend - 19 years ago
Yes, this weekend's performance was dissapointing, but this weekend doesn't mark the end of our season. Maybe it's time for you to jump off the bandwagon.by RedAR - Hockey
Hotels in Vermont - 19 years ago
Does anyone know any inexpensive hotels somewhere between Vermont and Dartmouth. I'm planning on making a trip up next weekend, but haven't booked a room yet. Also, I know this isn't the ticket exchange, but does anyone need 1 ticket to either or both the Vermont and Dartmouth game? Email me if interested.by RedAR - Hockey
Re: polls 11/8 - 19 years ago
It's kind of odd... During the 2001-02 season, the pollsters didn't give Cornell the respect it deserved, and consistently ranked them lower than where they belonged. This year, it seems as if the pllosters are giving us more credit than we deserve. I wonder, though, how far and fast we'll drop once we suffer a loss or two. Not that I'm complaining about a #8 ranking, but I think we areby RedAR - Hockey
Re: Undefeated - 19 years ago
With the limited number of games Cornell played, I'm not getting all that excited. What I am happy about (for bragging rights sake) is that with all teams except CC suffering a loss this early in the season, Cornell's undefeated season record will most likely stand for another season. Of course, I am pretty excited about how the team seems to be playing considering it's only their 3rd game.by RedAR - Hockey
Undefeated - 19 years ago
With Colorado College defeating North Dakota 3-2 (OT), and with both Brown and SUCKS' loss tonight, Cornell and CC remain the only undefeated team in the nation. Of course, we've only played 3 games against not-so-strong opponents, but still, winning the games we should be winning is definitely good. Hopefully, we can keep the winning streak going against Brown.by RedAR - Hockey

Re: Mazzoleni out of Harvard? - 19 years ago
because both of those positions are endowed. i'm sure the coaching position at cornell has an official title as well (though i'm too lazy to check).by RedAR - Hockey
Re: Mazzoleni out of Harvard? - 19 years ago
Well, it's official. Mazz is no longer with SUCKS. And I concur with the majority opinion here... no way Schafer jumps to Harvard.by RedAR - Hockey
Re: Goalie Recruit - 20 years ago
i feel sorry for chabot. i know this has been discussed to death, but is he REALLY that bad? is it his work ethics, or his skill?by RedAR - Hockey

I mean, Windows is a rock-solid piece of code that has merely bubbled to the top among the dozens of operating systems that all have a chance to compete in the open marketplace of commerce. Now that's funny.by RedAR - Hockey
Re: jerseys for sale - 20 years ago
wow, $349 for a jersey. and no nameplate either. you know you can pick up a game jersey from athletics for less than 1/3 the price, right?by RedAR - Hockey
Re: calgARI '07 is an asshole - 20 years ago
I disagree with what calgARI has been saying about LeNeveu and goaltending, but he is by no means a flaming. He is expressing his opinion. Is it me, or has the civility of this forum dropped off significantly from years past? Perhaps it's a sign of the success of Cornell hockey, and eLynah. Who knows?by RedAR - Hockey
Re: Hobey Hat Trick - 20 years ago
How the f**k does Danis get the nod over someone like Howard, who is, in fact a great goalie? At first, I had said that Danis wouldn't be one of the 10 finalists, and he was. Then, I said that there is no way in hell he's gonna be one of the hattricks, and he is. I currently refuse to believe that he will win the Hobey Baker, which probably means that he will. If Danis does win, it'll beby RedAR - Hockey
Re: Goaltending Recruit - 20 years ago
you can't really compare apples and oranges, or in this case, goalie and forward. among all the goalies last year, he was undoubtably the best goalie out there. among all the goalies in the history of college hockey, he was very near the top of the list. the fact that he didn't get the hobey baker when he was in contention with sejna does NOT take away from the fact that he was an amazing goalby RedAR - Hockey
Re: Goaltending Recruit - 20 years ago
Let me just ask this: if LeNeveu was as amazing last year as his numbers indicated (best ever GAA), why didn't he win the Hobey? How many genuine scoring chances did opponents have on Cornell all season? Going by this logic, then David McKee, who put up similar numbers to LeNeveu's on a team that was not as amazing last years, is in fact a superhuman goalie. I think McKee is a very gooby RedAR - Hockey
Re: Goaltending Recruit - 20 years ago
god, do you really think every goalie is as solid as leneveu? cornell was really lucky to have landed david leneveu, but david mckee really stepped it up his freshman year. coming into this season, goal tending was the biggest question mark in my mind. mckee erased that question mark really quickly. it was expected that the coaching staff would be looking another goalie, and i'm actually suby RedAR - Hockey
Re: F**K!!!! - 20 years ago
given that hahvahd is the only ecac team still playing hockey, i guess i'm resigned to rooting for them. and, yes, when i heard during the ecac championship game that hahvahd was the champ 2 of the past 3 years, it made me want to puke.by RedAR - Hockey
