Discussions about the Cornell men's and women's hockey teams
Re: Grady W. - 20 years ago
Grady really was a professional. I recall him mentioning that he would do everything in his power before a game to get the correct pronunciation of every player's name. If I recall correctly, he would sometimes simply ask the player how he pronounces his name. That's attention to detail that is seldom found. It's no wonder that he's seen such success as an announcer. In my mind, I always tby RedAR - Hockey

Damn it! How the hell did these under-achievers win the ECAC?by RedAR - Hockey
Re: Cornell 15th in PWR - 20 years ago
I have a feeling that NOT making it would be better for the development of next year's team. I know tournament experience is good, but so is the hunger and drive that comes from dissapointment (a la last year's team). My w cents.by RedAR - Hockey
Re: albany? - 20 years ago
First, you stated that you wished Hornby would have mauled a couple Clarkson players after the buzzer sounded Sunday night. Now, you brag about throwing a bottle at Clarkson fans. I'm so glad that the former didn't happen, and I truly regret that the latter did. I'm sure you won't agree with me, but I was extremely proud of how our guys kept things completely under control, even as it became iby RedAR - Hockey
Re: Game 3 Postgame thread - 20 years ago
Wonder how McKee feels about Nickerson. They seemed really buddy during our last regular season weekend. Not that it really matters, but I wonder if he has much more sympathy for this goon than the rest of the team.by RedAR - Hockey
Re: Captains for next year - 20 years ago
For someone who constantly professes to have better things to do than to obsess about Cornell Hockey, you REALLY make such an extra effort to post where you are not wanted. C'mon, how many nicks and different computers have you used to get onto this forum? IIRC, you were begging Age to let you back onto this forum, making empty threats of taking down the forum if he didn't let you back on. Patby RedAR - Hockey

Re: Captains for next year - 20 years ago
Posted by Get a Room Rick on March 14, 2004 10:43PM (---.biz.rr.com) Come on, were you guys watching the same team I was watching? Hornby flat out sucked this year. I was a huge Hornby fan last year, but this year he tried to clean up his game a little, and in doing so he left behind his physical play. He was useless. As for Wallace, I never understood why he was chosen in the firstby RedAR - Hockey
Re: Game 3 Postgame thread - 20 years ago
how the hell does Tralen think he owns us, when we scored 10 goals on him this weekend? how the hell does he think he owns us when this year's head to head record is 2-1-2? yes, his team won, they outplayed us, and they're going to the playoffs, but Traylen saying that he owns us is pretty ridiculous.by RedAR - Hockey
Back on track: Clarkson SUCKS! - 20 years ago
We have an incredibly important game coming up tonight. Let's hold off on the bickering, and focus on rooting for the team. I hope our guys step it up tonight, with or without Vesce. Not having Vesce will be good practice for next year, so the guys better figure out a way to be successful without him on the ice. If not, they'll have a long off-season starting tomorrow.by RedAR - Hockey
Re: The Lynah and E-Lynah Gestapo - 20 years ago
For many years prior to eLynah, there was the Cornell Hockey Discussion Forum, hosted by Kyle Rose. The forum transitioned from Kyle to Age, and then with the new interface, the name was changed to eLynah. Throughout the years of following Cornell hockey, I've noticed that this debate of alums vs. students is occurs in cycles. It's nothing new, and it will continue to happen. I can almost gby RedAR - Hockey
Re: Pairwise Ranking - 20 years ago
I'm sure this has been mentioned somewhere else, but I haven't been able to go through all the messages. After last night's results, Cornell is tied with Colgate for the #15 spot. Edit: corrected 14 to 15by RedAR - Hockey
Re: Nickerson Home Phone - 20 years ago
Can you guys just quit it with the stalking/harrassing. It's really stupid, annoying, and idiotic. If fans of other teams stalked or harrassed our players, would you find it funny?by RedAR - Hockey
Re: Yes, Cornell on internet video - 20 years ago
It's 6PM, and the link doesn't seem to be working. Anyone else have any suggestions? Is the link the same as last night?by RedAR - Hockey
Re: going to games this weekend - 20 years ago
Yeah, it was pretty pathetic at SUCKS last night. The 1600 figure seems to be way inflated (from observation) cause the place seemed to be less than half full. There were probably as many Cornell fans there last night as there were SUCKS fans There was this kid (maybe 12 years old?) wearing a Cornell jersey sitting next to the Harvard bench. He pressed his jersey on the glass between him aby RedAR - Hockey
Re: going to games this weekend - 20 years ago
dss28, I'll be with Tom Pasniewski and crodge2k and annedvm. I'll most likely be wearing my #24 Kendall jersey, with a beige Cornell Hockey cap. Hope you see you there.by RedAR - Hockey
Re: going to games this weekend - 20 years ago
For what it's worth, I just called the SUCKS ticket office and asked if I was safe in assuming that I could purchase tickets to the men's ice hockey games this weekend at the door. Response was "uhhh.. yeah."by RedAR - Hockey
ballot stuffing @ uscho - 20 years ago
current poll on the uscho front page: Which currently unranked team is the most likely to make the NCAA Tournament AND win at least one game? Cornell is current tied for 2nd, behind Colorado College.by RedAR - Hockey
Re: Post-Game Thread Sat 2/28 - 20 years ago
hmmm... this got me thinking... maybe that's why the VAST MAJORITY of UND fans are complete and utter idiots. just a guess, but a few lean years can't be too bad.by RedAR - Hockey
going to games this weekend - 20 years ago
Just wondering which games people were planning to attend in person this coming weekend. Tom Pasniewski and I are planning on going to at least 1, if not 2 (or 3) of the SUCKS vs. Vermont.by RedAR - Hockey
Re: Final Standings - 20 years ago
To give myself a pat on the back There were a handful of us who had voted in Age's poll during the home stretch that this year's team exceeded our expectations.by RedAR - Hockey
Re: Post-Game Thread Sat 2/28 - 20 years ago
From what I've read, a lot of the strength of Colgates PWR comes by barely edging out TUC comparisons with certain teams. If they lose a game to any TUC at this point, their PWR will drop significantly because the comparison will flip. I don't understand this this stuff all too well, so if someone with a more mathematical explanation can jump in, I'd appreciate it. But if I understand things cby RedAR - Hockey
Re: Post-Game Thread Sat 2/28 - 20 years ago
I think Colgate is currently on the bubble, and if they lose to any teams from this point out, they'll most likely be on the outside, looking in.by RedAR - Hockey
Re: Union No-Goal - 20 years ago
Upon reviewing all the evidence (primarily, the video), I am more convinced that Don Zimmer, even in his old age, saw the goal (he had to have seen the net bulge from his point of view) but was being a homer.by RedAR - Hockey
Re: The Next Vesce Chooses Harvard - 20 years ago
We'll have to drill into him how big a mistake he made next year, both at Lynah and at Lynah East.by RedAR - Hockey
