Re: joe nieuwendyk - 22 years ago
Neil Shapiro '83 wrote: The only other ECAC players I saw who were possibly better than Joe were RPI's Adam Oates, who has proven his worth in the NHL, and Vermont's Kirk McCaskill, who gave up on hockey and pitched in the Majors instead. That got me wondering... Does anyone have any particular recollections of seeing John LeClair when he played at Vermont?by Josh '99 - Hockey

The guy taking orders probably doesn't know. He most likely was saving you a little bit of money, though nothing significant in the scheme of things. You can specify lighter cheese, too, if that's what you want.by Josh '99 - Hockey

Rich Hovorka '96 wrote: The commercial-timing thing isn't just the network's fault. In fact I think there is a rule that they have to drop the puck within 20 seconds of a stoppage. Or something like that. I tend to like the fact that the officials don't give a bleep about any network hoo-hah...speeds up the games. If you want to talk about idiocy, I think you have to include the fact that their hockey coverage has missed showing more than one goal because they hadn't come back from commercial yet.by Josh '99 - Hockey

Hah... I KNEW you were going to say that. In fact, before I edited it, my message read: "I vote tar and feather. I can say with a pretty high degree of confidence that Beeeej will agree with me."by Josh '99 - Hockey

I've been told by a reliable source that the rotation will continue through (at least) this weekend. I'm going to guess that the order will be switched up so that Underhill can start on Senior Night.by Josh '99 - Hockey

Not only is the food not as good, but it just doesn't seem right for a 25 year-old guy with two earings in a backwards baseball cap to be cooking it. Re: Clinching - 22 years ago
I THINK I can handle this one... Harvard can win out and tie us in points, and I guess depending on tiebreakers can finish ahead of us. Clarkson needs 8 points to tie us; Dartmouth needs 7. However, they play each other to close out the season, so it's impossible for both of those to happen. Therefore, only Harvard and either Dartmouth OR Clarkson can catch us, so even if we lose all the tiebby Josh '99 - Hockey

Because I'm incredibly bored, I took a look at some more numbers regarding JR. Unfortunately, I couldn't find a great source for his career stats. hockeydb.com is what I've used, it has 4 years worth of his GAA but only the SV% stats for his junior and senior years. Stats in his games against Cornell, for comparison, were taken from Keith's site. Overall Career Stats: 37-58-8, 0.398 win% 0.88by Josh '99 - Hockey
