big red apple wrote: I don't think that chart really says anythin in our favor. We are a good team in a bad conference. (Mercyhurst is a mediocre team in a horrible conference.) The top teams in the better conferences played tougher schedules, and lost more games as a result. While you're right about the top teams in the WCHA, CCHA, and HEA playing tougher schedules, I think it does say that we'by Josh '99 - Hockey

Wow... and here we were, excited about how good our offense is this year. I'd hate to think of where last season (2.21) ranks.by Josh '99 - Hockey

Tom Lento wrote: I could've sworn that Murray had 2 goals and 3 assists, but I guess either I misheard or one of them got changed. Or maybe the ECAC screwed up. It certainly wouldn't be the first time that happened. Tom, I thought I'd heard that too. According to the USCHO box score, Murray didn't assist on the ENG. Even so, 2 and 2 is pretty darn good.by Josh '99 - Hockey

Re: RPI/Union - 22 years ago
Yes, the Cornell band usually has seats in the east end, assuming my geographical sense is correct. If the RPI band platform is at the east end of the rink, the Cornell band's usual seats are in the far southeast corner. The visitors' fans are usually in the seats at the west end of the rink. Tom Lento wrote: I believe that there is an instigation penalty in the NCAAs, although as far as I know it's just a 2 minute minor. I guess it could be upped to a major/misconduct on the official's discretion. Instigation is a minor penalty in the NHL as well; I'm pretty sure that it can only be assessed on top of a fighting major. The ref would have to rule it deliberate and that's a call they rarely make as its just too difficult to judge intent in that case. It WASN'T a clearing attempt. I've used, in the past, a (shareware, I think) program called PopOff. It does a good job of filtering out unwanted popups, but I stopped using it because it prevented some websites from using javascript links to open new windows that I told them to. It's been over a year since I had it installed, though, so that problem could possibly have been resolved since then. While we're on a related subby Josh '99 - Hockey

HUGE penalty kill for the USA about midway through the second, including over a minute of 5-on-3... Lemieux hit the post on an open net frrom just outside the crease, how the hell did he miss that?by Josh '99 - Hockey
