Re: Cornell alumni in the pros: Feb 2004 - 20 years ago
And in the ECHL, I noticed that on Wednesday, Denis Ladouceur assisted on the game winning goal as Alaska defeated Long Beach 3-2, and last night, he had 2 goals in a 4-3 loss. On Thursday night, Sam Paolini had a goal and last night, he had an assist, but Atlantic City lost both games (5-6, and 2-5).by Section A - Hockey
Re: Cornell alumni in the pros: Feb 2004 - 20 years ago
I think it was mentioned somewhere else that two nights after letting in 5 goals in the AHL All-Star Game, Lenny played well and stopped 28 shots en route to a 4-1 win. Tonight did not go nearly as well, unfortunately, as he only stopped 22 of 27 shots in a 5-3 loss. He was pulled for the last 3:34 after giving up a SH goal, in favor of Scott Dickie, who was called up to replace Pelletier, who ofby Section A - Hockey

Re: any way of blocking facetimer? - 20 years ago
So it turns out that Facetimer himself was a "stupid facetimer!" Ah, the irony. I do wonder, though, if Facetimer is reading this. If so..... Then again, maybe he isn't reading this, since his apartmentmates may have, well, dealt with him Post Edited (02-12-04 20:19)by Section A - Hockey
Re: ECAC Predictions - 20 years ago
Forgive me for not understanding the Bradley Terry stuff too well, but why is Dartmouth's schedule considered more difficult, using those measures, than Yale's, despite Dartmouth facing teams lower in the standings? Post Edited (02-12-04 20:14)by Section A - Hockey
Re: ECAC Predictions - 20 years ago
So I was wondering who, out of the top 6 teams, has the most difficult remaining schedule. So for each of the top 6, I added up the current standings of all the opponents. For example, for us, we play Yale (#6), Princeton (#11), RPI (#3), Union (#10), Clarkson (#8), and St. Lawrence (#9), to give a total "score" of 47. Obviously, the lower the score, the more difficult the remaining schby Section A - Hockey
Re: Sean Burke traded to Philly - 20 years ago
BTW, I believe Pelletier has started 3 games in the NHL (1 for the Flyers, 2 for the Coyotes). He's 0-3. Hopefully he can get a chance to get his first NHL win some time in the near future...by Section A - Hockey

Re: Cornell alumni in the pros: Feb 2004 - 20 years ago
After being relatively quiet for a while, Doug Murray had 2 assists tonight (1 being on the GWG) as Cleveland defeated Manitoba 5-1. LeNeveu, in his final start before Monday night's All-Star game stopped 31 of 33 shots, but, as is often the case with Springfield, didn't get any goal support of his own as Hartford shut out the Falcons 2-0. In the ECHL, Paolini had an assist as Atlantic City beby Section A - Hockey

Re: 2/6: Cornell 4 Dartmouth 2. Final. - 20 years ago
I can't verify this, but check out the "Colgate Pep Band" thread from last season. The final post on it was just about this time last year (Early Feb.) That thread, classic though it was, "only" had 150 posts. I know a couple game threads this season (other than this one) had more, including Cornell at Brown (173 posts) and Cornell vs Ohio State at the Everblades (196).by Section A - Hockey

know it happened 2 years ago against Union when only Leneveu dressed Not only did he make that start (his last of the 2001-2002 season, as it would turn out), but he had the primary assist on Sam Paolini's game-winning goalby Section A - Hockey

Re: LeNeveu called up? - 20 years ago
Well Burke and Bierk are actually too different people. There have been trade rumors flying about Sean (Burke) for a while now, and even if he were to be traded, the Coyotes would be left with Zac Bierk and recent headline-maker Brian Boucher, both of whom are still pretty good. Probably, neither Lenny nor JMP would get called up unless 1 of the goalies is injured/can't play/gets traded. Out of tby Section A - Hockey

Re: Miracle on Ice - 20 years ago
I know everyone else has already said this, but that isn't going to stop me!.... Saw the movie today; it was even better than I thought it would be. They did a really good job setting the scene for the game (i.e. the political/social climate in the US and the world at the time). Very well done. As someone already mentioned, the crowd cheered after every goal and applauded at the end. It was coolby Section A - Hockey
Re: 2/6: Cornell 4 Dartmouth 2. Final. - 20 years ago
Basically, Brown has to get 2 points or less out of its remaining Ivy League games (Yale, Dartmouth) in order for us to have a chance of winning the Ivy title. Of course, rooting for Yale and/or Dartmouth may also eventually cost us a first round bye in the ECAC playoffs. (Well, the rooting itself won't......oh you know what I mean......) Re: Cornell alumni in the pros: Feb 2004 - 20 years ago
Reminder that, though the NHL All-Star Game is Sunday afternoon, the AHL All-Star game (in which LeNeveu will play 1 period) is Monday night and is being televised on certain channels, including FSNY. Meanwhile, tonight, Pelletier stopped all 31 shots that came his way to earn a 4-0 shutout over Manchester. I wonder if Lenny will start tomorrow (vs. Hartford), 2 days before the All-Star Game.by Section A - Hockey

Re: McKee makes non-Hotbed team - 20 years ago
Not really related to the INCH thing, but at least it's McKee-related . Just looked this up: McKee is the only goaltender in D-1 hockey to have played every single minute of his team's games this season. Next closest is Ferris State, whose backup's only minutes were the last 10:09 of an 8-0 loss to Michigan State earlier in the season. Has there ever been a season at Cornell during which onby Section A - Hockey
Cornell alumni in the pros: Feb 2004 - 20 years ago
Well this had to be started some time! So going into this month, LeNeveu has played in 21 games, and has a GAA of 2.59 and a save perentage of .920. Pelletier's numbers are slightly better: 2.56 and .925 in 29 games. Murray has 6 goals and 6 assists so far this year (and a -1 overall rating) in 48 games played (ranking him 68th among defensemen in points) Bâby has 6 goals and 9 assists,by Section A - Hockey
