Re: traveling to away games - calling all faithful - 20 years ago
I'm planning on going to the games @ Colgate and @ RPI and Union. Is it better to get tickets through the Cornell ticket office or through the schools themselves? What I mean is, if I got tickets through the CU ticket office, are the seats on the side where Cornell attacks twice? Anyone have any idea (since I've never been up to the games at any of those 3 schools)? Thanks Post Edited (01-22-by Section A - Hockey

Indeed; it was pretty exciting. Here's the box score: Paolini scored a goal and assisted on the game-winning goal, and Mark McRae had an assist.by Section A - Hockey

and now a goal by Paolini! It's 5-3 West right now... (you can go to echl.com and watch the game, by the way)by Section A - Hockey

In fact, 17 penalty minutes were assessed to Lenny, as the game clearly got out of hand in the final couple minutes: Springfield - David LeNeveu - (Fighting (Secondary) Game Misconduct), 10 min, 18:43 Springfield - David LeNeveu - (Goalie Leaving Crease), 2 min, 18:43 Springfield - David LeNeveu - (Fighting Major), 5 min, 18:43 He had 34 saves on 39 shots.by Section A - Hockey

Well I found out what happened to Lenny on Saturday night. It doesn't sound serious. Here's an excerpt from the game recap on the Falcons' website - "LeNeveu protected the Falcons lead with several sparkling saves in the final two periods including a glove save on a point-blank IceCats’ opportunity in the middle frame. The rookie also slid from post to post to stop a power-play bid by Worceby Section A - Hockey

Stephen Bâby had a great weekend. On Friday night, Bâby had an assist, a fighting major, and a +1 rating for the game, but Chicago lost 4-3 in overtime to Grand Rapids. And then tonight, he had his first ever multi-point game as a pro, with a goal and 2 assists (+2) in a 5-1 win over Manitoba. He now has 4 goals and 7 assists in 31 games this season. In Springfield, Pelletier startedby Section A - Hockey

Re: Brown - 20 years ago
Exactly. Not the time to start thinking we're almost invincible, and it's definitely not time to think about next year. And those 3 seniors we're losing are Vesce, one of the best centers in all of college hockey, Hornby, who is in many ways the heart and energy of the team, and Wallace, a seasoned defensive defenseman. But like I said, that's next year ....by Section A - Hockey

Random updates: David Kozier still plays hockey in the UK. After finishing second in the EHL scoring race last year with 170 (!!!) points (92 G, 78 A) in 47 games with the Isle of Wight Raiders, he's moved north to play with the Manchester Phoenix, and has 20 points (9 G, 11 A) so far this year, through 33 games. Travis Bell plays for the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs of the CHL and has a goal anby Section A - Hockey

Re: Moulson+Hynes=Paolini? - 20 years ago
Palahicky plays for the Alaska Aces of the ECHL. I believe he only has 3 points this season (1 G, 2 A), but he was out for a little while with a concussion earlier in the season. Despite his lack of production, he is still on the team. I noticed his name in a box score (for taking a penalty) a few days ago. And Bell's team is in the CHL, not the ECHL. Here are his stats for the season (7 pointby Section A - Hockey

Chloe, This was the original thread, Cornell alumni in the pros: ...but when it became too long, I started a new one, Cornell alumni in the pros: Jan 2004 : Every few days, I update it, usually focusing on Pelletier, LeNeveu, Murray, Bâby, Paolini, Mark McRae, and Matt Underhill. Many of those players, including LeNeveu of course, will participate in the AHL All-Star Game (Monday Feb. 9, 7:00pm). The game will be televised. Here's more information on which channels, etc. : Interesting fact: Of the 295 players to take part in the AHL All-Star Classic since 1995, more than 91 percent have since competed in the NHL. Also, while LeNeveu is on the Canadian All-Star teby Section A - Hockey
Re: Moulson+Hynes=Paolini? - 20 years ago
If I had to pick, Moulson should get the Crimson Cup, simply because he's figured in 5 of the 6 goals against Harvard this season (3 goals, 2 assists....and was on the ice for the 6th), while Hynes "just" has the 3 goals. Charlie Cook, by the way, has 4 assists against Harvard this season. Perhaps more importantly, we won both gamesby Section A - Hockey

Saturday night, Pelletier stopped 34 of 36 shots as Springfield came from behind, scoring an extra-attacker goal in the final minute of the third period to come away with a 2-2 tie against Providence. I'd imagine that, assuming he's healthy, LeNeveu will start Wednesday at Worcester. I think I remember someone mentioning that game in the past; anyone going?
