7% I don't know / Not sure / No opinion. I still amazes me that 115 people looked at all of those worthy choices and then decided to click "I don't know." Why bother?!by Section A - Hockey

found Underhill! - 20 years ago
okay now I found this: Underhill has been called up by the Norfolk Admirals of the AHL, though he did not play over the weekend. Some guy named Michael Leighton did, who, by the way, was called up by the Chicago Blackhawks today. So Underhill could play this weekend against Binghamton. (how on earth did Underhill go from the Calgary organization to LA to Chicago?) Post Edited (02-23-by Section A - Hockey
Re: Cornell alumni in the pros: Feb 2004 - 20 years ago
Follow-up on Underhill: he isn't on the roster for the Florence Pride anymore, so I have no idea where he is. Also, Wieckowski has been cut from the Long Beach Ice Dogs, also of the ECHL.by Section A - Hockey
Re: Cornell alumni in the pros: Feb 2004 - 20 years ago
in the ECHL this past week: On Tuesday, Mark McRae scored with just 1:21 remaining in the game to secure a 4-2 win for Florence over South Carolina. A guy named Sebastien LaPlante has been playing all the time in goal for the Pride recently, so I'm not sure what's happened to Underhill...(??)... On Friday night, Shane Palahicky scored his first goal in a LONG time early in the 3rd period en rouby Section A - Hockey
Re: Why can't ecac teams score? - 20 years ago
It's a shame that former Big Red assistant coach Jamie Russell hasn't been able to implement the same defensive scheme coaching Michigan Tech (in the CCHA) this season. They have the fourth worst defense in the country, allowing 4.22 goals per game. Assuming he at least tried to stick with the defensive mentality, you still have to have the right kind of players to make it work, and the ECAC, andby Section A - Hockey

Re: More Union post-game wrap up - 20 years ago
Maybe the loss to Union will turn out to be a good thing...fire them up for the final 2 home games of the RS and then the playoffs. It was a heartbreaking loss that might serve the same function as the loss to Colgate in OT did last season. That is, the players don't want to feel like that again, especially with a lot on the line from now on, and especially on home ice. And also, a long winning sby Section A - Hockey
Re: Dave McKee vs. Yann Danis - 20 years ago
Only ECAC games/stats are considered for the Dryden Award, right? Well, assuming they are (and I'm 99 % sure of it), here are the stats right now: Rk Name GP W-L-T MIN GA SV SV% GAA 1 David McKee, Fr, COR 20 11-6-3 1196:41 28 419 .937 1.40 2 Yann Danis, Sr, BN 20 12-6-2 1202:51 35 610 .946 1.75 McKee's GAA is much better, and the save percentage isn't too far ofby Section A - Hockey

Lots to talk about - NHL: It was mentioned already that Pelletier played over the weekend for the Coyotes, getting his first NHL win on Friday night with a 26 save effort for an exciting, come-from-behind 3-2 victory over Columbus. Unfortunately, things didn't go nearly as well on Saturday, as Phoenix lost to Nashville 8-2. Boucher let in 5 goals, and Pelletier let in 3 in relief. AHL: In Sprby Section A - Hockey

Re: Cornell alumni in the pros: Feb 2004 - 20 years ago
Quick ECHL update: last night, Ladoceur had a goal and Palahicky had an assist as Alaska defeated Fresno 5-4 in OT. Alaska has been on a bit of a roll lately, including a dramatic 6-5 win the other night after being down 4-0 in the second period. LeNeveu rebounded from his subpar performance Saturday night with a win on Sunday, stopping 30 of 33 shots in a 5-3 victory for Springfield over Albanby Section A - Hockey

ECAC Players of the Week, 2/16 - 20 years ago
Shane Hynes is the Co-Player of the Week (along with Scott Basiuk of RPI). Byron Bitz is the Rookie of the Week. I believe it's the second time Bitz has been the rookie of the week (and I think McKee has been given the honor twice as well). Post Edited (02-17-04 16:51)by Section A - Hockey
Re: numbers, numbers, numbers - 20 years ago
Approximately as cool as lining up for the national anthems in numerical order. I always thought that was cool, though I'm sure all teams have a specific way they line up for the anthems, even if it's not numerically. They are all superstitious, after all . This reminds me though......I noticed (as I'm sure others did too) that, this past weekend, they lined up slightly differently for the introby Section A - Hockey

Fortunately, the Dartmouth/Brown game is on the final night of the regular season, and we'll know whether we have to root for Dartmouth (to get a share of the Ivy Title) or for Brown (to get a first-round bye over Dartmouth, possibly).by Section A - Hockey
