klehner mountainred On a forward-looking note, how many of the Finger Lakes Ivyshirts do you think would start today? Ramirez and Fernandez would have to be favored to take over at 165 and 285, right? I’m not sure I would bet against Foca at 174 or Cardenas (when healthy) at 197 either. Next year’s team will be loaded if they can avoid injuries. How about this lineup next year *and* the yearby George64 - Other Sports

adamw CAS Cornell has adopted a program where it matches the financial aid awards of the other Ivy League schools, Stanford, MIT, & Duke. This program is for all students, not just athletes. So if a hockey recruit wants to attend Cornell but received a better financial aid package from Harvard, Cornell will match the Harvard package. This will enable the recruit to play in front of the Lynaby George64 - Hockey

Jim Hyla Freshman Friday: Zach Tupker I've wondered how difficult it is for either of them, when one gets to play and the other sits. Q: We think you're the first fraternal twins, because I think the other three were all identical … A: Really? That's kind of unique. You don't really hear that too often where it's more identical and less paternal. Three? Doug and Dave Ferguson '67by George64 - Hockey

ugarte Do-over is Labor Day in Wilkes-Barre on the campus of Wilkes University which is about as geographically close to both Ithaca and State College as you can get. Of course, it's still in Pennsylvania so I suspect it's going to be a home crowd for Zain. Retherford beats Yianni in rematch, 2-1.by George64 - Other Sports

George64 Congratulations National Champions! After disappointment in the Eastern Sprints, Cornell 8+ takes gold at the IRAs, 4+ takes bronze and 4- seventh. Combined, they are the overall point winner in the Lightweight category. Here's the video from Sunday. Lightweight 8+ Varsity coverage begins at about 2:57.10.by George64 - Other Sports

An interesting and sad footnote. 1983 ILR grad and Princeton economist, Alan Krueger, commited suicide this past weekend. According to the NYT, in 2014 he and a colleague published an analysis of the benefits of attending a highly selective college. “They found that, after statistically controlling for students’ SAT scores, economic background and college ambitions, the long-term financialby George64 - Other Sports

Cornell announcement. This surprised me - only the third Cornell first-team forward selected in 32 years. “Barron joins Matt Moulson (2005) and Riley Nash (2009) as the only other Cornell forwards to earn All-ECAC Hockey first-team honors since Joe Nieuwendyk's second selection in 1987.“by George64 - Hockey
