Re: 2020-21 Season *Officially* Delayed - 3 years ago
Rochester D&C article on the Cornell hockey season that will not be. To my annoyance, the D&C rarely acknowledges Cornell sports, not even mentioning Penfield’s Lindsay Browning ‘21.by George64 - Hockey

David Harding Several years ago we were driving outside Toronto and our GPS sent us onto am all-electronic tool road. Back home in Illinois a couple of months later we got a bill in the mail. Same happened to me — I recall it was a very hefty fee. I’ve been very careful ever since when driving near Toronto.by George64 - Hockey

osorojo Rental cars?! Again, from the D&C . . . Some rental-car companies equip their vehicles with E-ZPass, usually as an add-on. In that case, the rental company's E-ZPass will be billed when you pass underneath a tolling gantry. But be careful: Sometimes using the rental company's E-ZPass comes with a steep per-day surcharge, so it may cost If there's no E-ZPass in the rental car,by George64 - Hockey

Particularly, those coming from Ontario, as NY Thruway has begun cashless tolls. The following is excerpted from the Rochester D&C. What happens if I’m a resident of another state (or Canada)? If you don’t have E-ZPass and you’re driving a vehicle with license plates from another state, the registered owner of the vehicle will be billed by mail. If you do have E-ZPass from anothby George64 - Hockey

BTW, Harry Edwards, PhD ‘73 received his MA and doctorate from Cornell. Ruth Bennett, The Atlantic In 1988, the University of California sociologist Harry Edwards published an indictment of the “single-minded pursuit of sports” in Black communities. The “tragic” overemphasis on athletics at the expense of school and family, he wrote in Ebony magazine, was leaving “thousands and thousands of Blby George64 - Other Sports

Trotsky our analyses show that the number of people infected and/or hospitalized is likely to be markedly lower if we have an in-person, residential semester with the aforementioned screening mechanisms than if we are purely online. That should be a fun class action law suit. "If we go all online your kids will still come here and then drink and fuck all day, so instead we're opening caby George64 - John Spencer Is Dead

ugarte In high school someone told me "the Rangers have 20,000 fans and they all have season tickets." I don’t know when you were in high school, but I graduated in 1960. My friends and I would catch the subway at 179th Street to the old MSG. With a GO (General Organization) card, the closest thing to a student ID then, general admission was $1.25. cth95 James Moss, the awesome Psych 101 professor and nationally renowned sleep researcher, talked about Harry often and also used his music to teach. Moss knew Harry well. Harry worked for him, studied with him, or at least was a TA for him. I can't remember exactly. Jim Maas was the TA when I took Psych 101 in 1961-62, so he probably didn’t get a faculty appointment until around 1963. Harby George64 - John Spencer Is Dead

David Harding The Chapins on Merv Griffith introduced as being "all out of Cornell University," though I think only Harry actually attended Cornell. Tom went to SUNY Potsdam. Thanks, brought back memories. After I brought a car up to Cornell my sophomore year, I’d drop Harry off at his home in the Bronx on my way to Long Island. I think he “busted out” our junior year. klehner mountainred On a forward-looking note, how many of the Finger Lakes Ivyshirts do you think would start today? Ramirez and Fernandez would have to be favored to take over at 165 and 285, right? I’m not sure I would bet against Foca at 174 or Cardenas (when healthy) at 197 either. Next year’s team will be loaded if they can avoid injuries. How about this lineup next year *and* the yearby George64 - Other Sports

adamw CAS Cornell has adopted a program where it matches the financial aid awards of the other Ivy League schools, Stanford, MIT, & Duke. This program is for all students, not just athletes. So if a hockey recruit wants to attend Cornell but received a better financial aid package from Harvard, Cornell will match the Harvard package. This will enable the recruit to play in front of the Lynaby George64 - Hockey
