Discussions about the Cornell men's and women's hockey teams
Re: Interview With Coach Schafer Now Available! - 19 years ago
Coach Schafer said: It's important to the NCAA because they take money from institutions like Minnesota in order to have a strong regional, but then it's not important to them when they place a team like Cornell out West when we have a large fan base and the stands were relatively empty in the East. I never can understand why our fans don't get a little re$pect from the powers that be. Itby marty - Hockey

Mark Wrote: I assume Cornell will again be either regular-season champion of the ECAC or at least runner-up. And certainly in the running for a spot in either Worcester or Manchester after another run through Albany. . Do you mean Albany rather than Manchester after the ECAC tourney? I wouldn't bet against Green Bay or Grand Forks. • East Regional: Pepsi Arena, Albany, N.Y. (Maby marty - Hockey

jmh30 Wrote: I have to be honest, though... Fridge has recruited a lot of good players, and continues to bring in guys like Croxton and Lord who can be difference-makers. And he won the league championship in his first year with players who weren't his, so he must have SOME idea of how to coach a team. So, I think RPI will make their way back up towards the top of the standings sooner orby marty - Hockey
Re: Jon Gleed - 19 years ago
I seem to remember a certain former coach appear (I say appear because he could claim he was referring to Cropper) to make the same error during his interview in Estero this year.by marty - Hockey

Trotsky Wrote: Clarkson will be back. RPI... not so sure. They've been steadily sinking; that's not a good sign. At RPI in addition to finding a coach they have to climb a mountain to regain any semblance of a decent recruiting scheme. They are in really big trouble for at least the next three years. If Oates or some similar alum does a Red Berenson for them they could return to formby marty - Hockey

RichS Wrote: Banned, Marty? I don't recall that, really. Truce? Was this a war? It wasn't one in my mind. The point was no one ever banned you. I guess I was too obtuse? And yes, you are acting like it is a war. Your posts used to be much more worthwhile than they have been this week. I like the idea of a Clarkson fan on the forum, but I haven't enjoyed this stuff.by marty - Hockey

RichS Wrote: Clearly you haven't been reading closely. And that last statement is one of the most ridiculous things I've read on this forum. If anything, it's you folks who think you're superior. With a couple of notable exceptions, the red fans here reject out of hand anything that is remotely critical of your team or fans that is said by an opposing fan. billhoward Wrote: Will Wrote: One wonders if this will be our ultimate revenge on Minnesota. Then again, the NCAA likes to make money and Minnesota likes to host regionals, so it might do nothing. But it'll be nice to have the rules on our side in the future. OK, On my way to church and did a quick search and didn't find a hit. Did we get the cowbell back from security? I saw a post on USCHO that said the police confiscated the bell.!by marty - Hockey

Re: Albany area Time Warner TV - 19 years ago
The ARC in Watervliet will likely do it. Call ahead, but they said they can get anything on DirectTV when I asked on Thursday. It's a very old fashioned "beer garden" neighborhood watering hole converted to a sports bar. There will be squeek ball fans for sure.by marty - Hockey

Re: Adam Wodon on crack? - 19 years ago
I'll speak for the Chief until he corrects me, but I doubt he would take offense at the ritalin remark. He is a great fan and a lot of fun to be with at the games and otherwise and he never seems to lose his smile or his enthusiasm. Come to think of it, hand me the pills!by marty - Hockey

Re: Adam Wodon on crack? - 19 years ago
Adam, For what its worth I don't think you were on crack on Friday. Your play by play was great and I wish that you had been calling the game on Saturday, too. What I didn't like about the games both nights were the limited number of cameras but more to the point I wonder about the quality of the camera that was in the booth at center ice. It sure didn't make the game very easy to follow.by marty - Hockey
Re: Cornell vs OSU on TV? - 19 years ago
I have 6 ESPNs and 7 ESPN PPV stations and no stinkin' ESPN U. Well ESPN U! ^ Time Warner Since TW is shafting us with the MSG Fox feud couldn't they give us ESPN U??by marty - Hockey
