Discussions about the Cornell men's and women's hockey teams
Re: ELynah Chat - 14 years ago
Any way we could retain chat histories for each game? The game threads are dead with the new chat (at least I think that's why) and it's a little disappointing not to be able to re-live a game by reading through the progression like we used to be able to. Not sure if it's feasible or even something people would want, but throwing it out there.by RazzBaronZ - Hockey
Re: Cornell-Yale Postgame - 15 years ago
I had a lot of fun at the game. Ingalls was indeed packed, and the fans did a pretty good job. I thought that Yale was much faster than we were; often, our players looked winded when rushing to catch up on defense. The problem to me was that we gave the puck away so much. Cornell would get in the Yale zone and then immediately (or on the rush towards their blue line) have it taken away. Our puby RazzBaronZ - Hockey

If I only got SRO tickets to Yale, will there be any way for me to get into the Cornell section to cheer with you guys?by RazzBaronZ - Hockey
Re: Yost - 16 years ago
BMacWe did have quite a bit of fun towards the end last night by counting Mike Devine's goals for him, veeeeeeery slooooowly. ONE! TWO! THREE! FOUR! FIVE! SIX! WE WANT MORE! SIEEEEEEEVE... etc. Well done, I always love it when the fans have enough discipline to make the cheer better. The extra-slow "sieve" chants last year were great, too.by RazzBaronZ - Hockey
Re: ECAC Round 1: Post-series Thread - 16 years ago
ugartekroseTrotskyThose were the days when we actually charged the boards and climbed the glass, and that is not easy, even when you're 21, trust me. I did it in '96, and don't recall having any problems getting over the glass. I think I was only 20 at the time, though. If I got over the glass, and I did, it was not hard to get over the glass. They made the glass taller I believe two seasons aby RazzBaronZ - Hockey

I've been doing some research on the subject, and I have come to the conclusion that HARVARD SUCKS. That is all.by RazzBaronZ - Hockey

TrotskyrediceJeff Hopkins '82sah67KenPNEW RECRUITS ANNOUNCED FOR 2008 They'd probably cash more checks than Romano did. FYP Five Year Plan, of course. No post. Just wanted to keep the streak alive. I don't think they'll have any trouble scoring. (I'm sorry, really...)by RazzBaronZ - Hockey

You always take great shots. Thanks for these.by RazzBaronZ - Hockey
Re: Red Hot Hockey: The Fan Experience - 16 years ago
I'm really glad I sat in the student section (320-330s). The band was easily heard and the fans were into it; we're the ones who started the sieve...vacuum... cheer. I think that anyone who wasn't happy with the crowd would have loved it had we not been taken out of the game so early on. The place would have been as loud as anything.by RazzBaronZ - Hockey

Tom14850is anyone getting free audio for this? The link from the audio page doesn't seem to be loading for me. I pasted "; into Windows Media Player and it worked. didn't work in Winamp for some reason.by RazzBaronZ - Hockey

Re: Post Game! - 17 years ago
cth95 Along those lines, is it me or does the Clarkson announcer call us Colgate for our penalties and goals? I swear I have heard him say "Colgate penalty on..." and "Colgate goal by....." without hearing "Cornell..." I thought I just heard wrong or he screwed up a few times last year, but then this year I heard it again. Same.by RazzBaronZ - Hockey
Re: Post Game! - 17 years ago
Just saw the replay on CSTV. It jolted my memory about something: It reminded me of the "battle of the bands" - when our Tubas tried to play the Die/Drop Dead/Go Home and the Colgate band drowned them out. The tubas played it in its entirety, stopped, then played it again when the Colgate band was done. The Colgate band played over them once again, but the crowd went crazy when thby RazzBaronZ - Hockey
Re: Cornell at Colgate postgame - 17 years ago
evilnaturedrobot And while Scrivens did make two nice saves on the shorthanded breakaway, that third goal was just awful. There's no excuse for loosing your balence before the shot even goes off. I was at the game and it wasn't Scrivens' fault. He had to dive to make one save, and they got a rebound that they lofted above him. It was pretty impossible to save from my angle. I also agree thby RazzBaronZ - Hockey
Re: Cornell 2 Brown 5 postgame thread - 17 years ago
Very disappointing game... We outplayed them through most of the game, but I couldn't believe the break-aways they ended up getting. Once again, we should have had many more goals than we did, and I'm not sure why. The PP and PK looked OK most of the time. Their goalie looked scared of the puck when we shot it hard, so I thought this was going to be a huge blowout for us. We had some greby RazzBaronZ - Hockey
Re: Higher Glass in Lynah - 17 years ago
Yep. I just transferred a bunch of photos from my digicam to the 'ol laptop, and the glass is definitely higher all around.by RazzBaronZ - Hockey

Great pics. I can see myself celebrating. And amazing timing to get the puck going into the net.by RazzBaronZ - Hockey
Higher Glass in Lynah - 17 years ago
So I went to the skills competition tonight and thought I was seeing things. They put in new glass. It's much taller. Row 7-8 has the line between glass and no glass in their view now, instead of row 2 or so before. I guess I won't get hit by a puck now but I also won't get to take a puck home with me and will get less candy thrown at me. I guess I'll take the good with the bad.by RazzBaronZ - Hockey
Re: Cornell 3 RPI 3 Post-game Thread - 17 years ago
plrd78There were a few players who deserved a Star. Bitz..no way, he fanned on the shot he scored. Greening broke down the right side, Romano came up the middle and drew both defensmen, Bitz received the pass and a knuckle puck beat the goalie..very lucky...On the RPI 3rd goal... whos fault Bitz and Sawada..2 monsters watched the RPI player shoot the puck, if either one of them simply lifted theby RazzBaronZ - Hockey
Re: Cornell 6 Union 0 postgame (12/2/06) - 17 years ago
ebilmesHeafDog The younger fans won't know any better if the older fans don't show them the way. You can't blame them for a lack in creativity. I agree with you that we should be doing a more diverse assortment of cheers to set an example for the "newer" fans. After my friend and I started a Black Hole cheer on Saturday, someone asked us what the cheer was and wanted to learn how toby RazzBaronZ - Hockey

nr53Liz '05Tub(a)You kids and your crazy facebook schemes. I could never imagine using the facebook for hockey related taunting purposes Seriously. You young'uns need to go past the poking and dig deeper into their profiles. Find some pictures of, say, a bunch of Clarkson players in a small hot tub (or something). A friend of mine got a screenshot of the RPI goalie's facebook page courtby RazzBaronZ - Hockey
Re: Cornell 6 Union 0 postgame (12/2/06) - 17 years ago
ebilmesRazzBaronZ I'm happy going into the new year. Easy... I didn't mean I think we are the best team ever after this game, just that it's nice to win a game before I don't see Cornell hockey for over a month.by RazzBaronZ - Hockey
Re: Separate ushers-vs.-fans game thread? - 17 years ago
As I posted in the Union postgame thread, the ushers were very nice the past 2 nights. I yelled as loud as I could, and got to get into the goalies' heads without a peep from the ushers. As far as I can tell, as long as nobody is cursing, they're being nice. Even when someone did, they got a warning and didn't do it again. As long as this is the case from now on, I have no further beef withby RazzBaronZ - Hockey
Re: Cornell 6 Union 0 postgame (12/2/06) - 17 years ago
We finally came out with energy for the first time since the Harvard game. I was happy with the hustle. Schafer must've said something because I haven't seen that energy in a while. We got to almost every puck first, and while Union might just be horrible, it was great to see some confidence and the willingness to push to get to the puck first. I thought Scrivens wasn't tested at all, but he sby RazzBaronZ - Hockey
Re: Separate ushers-vs.-fans game thread? - 17 years ago
RichHoceanst41From talking to them, some of these ushers are afraid that if they don't toss people every once and a while they will be replaced. Now that doesn't seem right any way you slice it. Wooo!!! Quotas! Them kids are all up to no good, I tells ya. I heard the ushers were racially profiling. They'll stop a car with a black man going 55 but won't care about the rich white folk who arby RazzBaronZ - Hockey
Re: Separate ushers-vs.-fans game thread? - 17 years ago
I also disagree with Dpperk29. They are cracking down on people being LOUD. I'm in A and during Dartmouth I looked at the usher while I cheered. She was staring at me. She saw my lips and knew exactly what I was saying. So I was being loud and getting into the game. So what? I didn't curse, I didn't do anything wrong, and I had her single me out and talk to me (she then told me to "teby RazzBaronZ - Hockey
Re: Separate ushers-vs.-fans game thread? - 17 years ago
Not that we aren't doing it, but can everybody be as loud as possible the entire game and not give a crap next time to see what happens? No cursing, no anything. Just be the loud guy(s)/gal(s) in your section. If people get kicked out simply for being loud, would they be able to plead their case? I know they can just kick people out at their discretion, but if I'm being louder than others wby RazzBaronZ - Hockey
