Re: Alumni Game - 17 years ago
jtwcornell91RazzBaronZI feel that if it was at Lynah, I could've convinced more of my friends to go and the atmosphere would've been better. Well, except for the construction equipment and the lack of ice. I don't know, it might have been more fun when you put it that way.by RazzBaronZ - Hockey
Re: Alumni Game - 17 years ago
I went and personally didn't think it was too interesting. It was kind of fun to see Schafer skating, but without the crowd participation it wasn't nearly as fun as a real Cornell game. Also, the players were trying to pass as much as possible and to hit as little as possible, so it wasn't the most exciting game. That said, it was nice to see some Cornell hockey over the summer. I feel thatby RazzBaronZ - Hockey

Re: Thread for people who need rides to/from Albany (to/from Ithaca/NYC/Boston/wherever) - 18 years ago
Leaving Ithaca about 2:30-3pm today (Friday), have space for 2 more people. Only caveat is might be listening to MCAT audio CDs on the way there (I hate my life until April 22nd). No rides back to anywhere, but let me know if you need a ride there. Alexby RazzBaronZ - Hockey
Re: Anyone need a hotel rm in Downtown Ithaca (Econo Lodge)? - 18 years ago
nyc94RazzBaronZYes it's definitely in downtown Albany... edit the original post so more people read the thread Jeez good call! I thought you were referencing me not having the word Albany in my post. Completely missed that.by RazzBaronZ - Hockey
Re: Anyone need a hotel rm in Downtown Ithaca (Econo Lodge)? - 18 years ago
Yes it's definitely in downtown Albany... I can cancel within 24 hours; I gave them a call at 7am today but they said it was too late to cancel. They didn't even offer to have me pay some sort of lower cancellation fee.by RazzBaronZ - Hockey
Anyone need a hotel rm in Downtown Albany (Econo Lodge)? - 18 years ago
I'm hoping someone could help me out, I booked 2 rooms at the Econo Lodge downtown for Friday night only, but one of my friends just got sick and isn't going to be coming, and therefore her friend she was bringing isn't either, bringing the total number of people with me to 4 (from 6). I got 2 rooms (nonsmoking) with 2 double beds in each room. Does anybody still need a place? Hotel Infby RazzBaronZ - Hockey
Re: Cornell Semifinal 3/17 - 3/18 Game tickets - 18 years ago
OK, a bunch of questions about tickets (just booked 2 hotel rooms): So student tickets are 1pm on Tuesday. Will they be sold out soon after or can I go around 3pm when I have some free time? Is the Bartels box office for both refunds for the Sunday game from this weekend and for Pepsi Arena Tickets? Also, how many tickets per person can we buy (one of my friends has an Albany friend hby RazzBaronZ - Hockey
Re: Albany roll call!! - 18 years ago
I'll be there with at least 3. Anyone have advice on getting hotels or something cheap for a night? I'm driving to NYC after the finals on Saturday. EDIT: I'll be there with at least 6 now, with a hotel booked (the Economy Lodge downtown). I sure hope they don't care I have an extra person in each room (2 double beds for 3,4 people should be fine right?). See you all there!by RazzBaronZ - Hockey
Re: Out of Town Scores: Game 2 - 18 years ago
Was there ever a game this long at Lynah? I would've lost my voice about 2 OTs ago. What happened if anyone was there? Also, can I request that people don't post that the feed isn't working over and over? I think most of the posts in the past hour say that.by RazzBaronZ - Hockey
Re: Out of Town Scores: Game 2 - 18 years ago
This penalty is probably deciding the game. Hopefully it's over within the hour...by RazzBaronZ - Hockey
Re: Harvard ejectsion - 18 years ago
So this is my first Harvard game and I really want to bring a fish but I'm torn. How many other people do you think will have fish/be throwing them from section B? I'm towards the middle so I'm not as scared as if I were on the edge. I've been trying to convince 2 friends sitting next to me to bring fish too, but they're girls and scared that they're gonna get kicked out & lose the abiliby RazzBaronZ - Hockey
Re: Disappointment with faithful? - 18 years ago
Agreed...The corwd in A/B was pretty awful, but the slow sieve chant. I had to explain it to a few people in B but it's great in that it lasts so long and it doesn't strain your voice. It sounded like zombies were cheering it, and a few people who didn't know about the chant said it was very distracting and they thought it was a great idea.by RazzBaronZ - Hockey
Re: Cornell 3 SLU 4 (3rd period) - 18 years ago
"And the Cornell fans are whining again!" (after penalty was called on us, and the announcers thought it would be a penalty shot) I hate these announcers. I love the SLU(t) chant though! Great job cheering for Cornell out there! 2 seconds after that quote, the announcers whine that a pentalty is called on one of the SLU players. Not boo, but whine with a very nasal voice in loby RazzBaronZ - Hockey

I don't know what's more painful...the audio quality or the fact that we're on our way to a 0-point weekend.by RazzBaronZ - Hockey

This audio is awful. I think SLU just scored.by RazzBaronZ - Hockey
Re: The RED-OUT crowd and "it's all your fault" cheer. - 18 years ago
The only way the slow sieve chant will work is if it's done to taunt the opposing goalie during the 1st and 3rd periods, and not during an existing chant. I didn't think the sieve was going to be for when we score goals, because I agree, that will never work. The slower LGR will also only work temporarily and within sections A-B if it's started there.by RazzBaronZ - Hockey

Re: Cornell @ Colgate Postgame 2/4 - 18 years ago
It was the perfect game for TV I felt, as it went down to the wire and it was SO satisfying when it was over. The cameras could have been a little better; they kept doing tight shots of people who were about to shoot on goal so a lot of the scoring opportunities had to be replayed after the fact. I told everyone around me right before the first goal Colgate scored that we were being lazy. Beby RazzBaronZ - Hockey
Re: The RED-OUT crowd and "it's all your fault" cheer. - 18 years ago
Speaking of, has the LGR cheer always been speeded up the way it has been this year? For some reason I always remembered it being at one tempo when I've been at games before (This is the first year I have season tix). -Alex Barash '07by RazzBaronZ - Hockey
Re: Lynah: Cornell 4 Colgate 1 Postgame - 18 years ago
I sit in B as well but have friends who sit in E so I've been there for a second period or two. Those sections don't know as many cheers (they don't do the red line..idiot or even kill, red, kill; I started the KRK one and they thought it was LGR). Still, they're a lot louder and more cohesive than where I sit IMO. I was kinda disappointed with sections A and B after I sat in E for a period.by RazzBaronZ - Hockey
Re: Email to student season ticket holders - "Sea of Red" Friday Night - 18 years ago
I thought many more people were wearing red tonight, so yes it did. It also seemed to me that more people wore Lynah shirts to class and throughout the day than usual, which was nice as well. -Alex Barash '07by RazzBaronZ - Hockey
Re: Lynah: Cornell 4 Colgate 1 Postgame - 18 years ago
So back to the game, My favorite part was absolutely the crowd. The red was unbelievable. I took a friend to her first CU hockey game ever, and she said it was the best sports event she'd ever been to. She's hooked. Our pentalty kill was fantastic; we dominated that game the entire time, and the effort was there 99.9% of the time. The .1% we skimped, they scored. I think we got lazy wiby RazzBaronZ - Hockey

Re: Cornell 3 Niagara 3 (3rd period) - 18 years ago
Reading over the threads last night and tonight, I feel surprised whenever we're scored on. I guess I have to start getting used to it. Then again, I'm pleasantly surprised that we're scoring. Does anyone know why the game next week was moved to 6pm? -Alexby RazzBaronZ - Hockey
Re: Union 2 @ Cornell 1 (postgame thread 11/18/05) - 18 years ago
Just to clarify, the first thing I thought of when thinking of drugs which take a while to build up in the system were antidepressants. I wasn't saying anything about ADD at all, just that even if the drugs work similarly in that they take a while to build up in the system (didn't take the time to check this), a year is complete overkill for side-effects to show up for the first time. Re: Union 2 @ Cornell 1 (postgame thread 11/18/05) - 18 years ago
It is true that ADD medication can affect sports performance. However, it seems unlikely that he's been taking the same medication (if he has) for about a year and is only now playing differently because of it. I'm only pre-med but I really can't see this happening logically...even meds for depression (like Paxil) which take a while to build up in the blood take only 4 weeks to take effect.by RazzBaronZ - Hockey
