Discussions about the Cornell men's and women's hockey teams
Re: Princeton Post-game - 14 years ago
For the 5x3: I'm pretty sure I heard Princeton's coach yell "you're screwing up the game" while he was going absolutely ballistic after the penalty whistled directly in front of the bench. To me it looked like the ref Teed him up as you would in basketball. Other observations: As for the last goal against Scrivens, from behind the CU bench (opposite blue line) I was completely shocby Sarli - Hockey

Re: HARVARD SUCKS - 20 years ago
I'm somewhat fond of what my Clarkson friend told me: "Around the bowl, down the hole, GO BROWN GO" Although our old outlawed one seems the most true, it's a shame I never got to hear it. Post Edited (12-05-03 02:32)by Sarli - Hockey
Re: Keys in a one-goal game - 20 years ago
Actually, hahvahd (Sucks) is not even a safety school for CU engineers, so, at least, I always got a big rise out of chanting safety school at all the liberal arts Ivies. But, then again, all us engineers are a little on the side.by Sarli - Hockey
Re: audio for mercyhurst game? - 20 years ago
According to the Live Stats: Cornell 13 shots (Cook has 4 no one else more than 1) M-hurst 5 shots The live stats thing seems to be updating in a reasonable time frame thus far tonight, which is nice to see.by Sarli - Hockey
Re: My Opinion of Cornell after the Princeton game - 20 years ago
Well Murray had his share of penalties as a Freshman. However, I remember him having a huge shot on the power play and seemingly would lay out at least one guy a weekend. I don't remember anyone on Cornell really plastering a princeton kid. So as long as O'byrne gets in a couple nice clean hits I'll take 6 PIM a weekend (that's a bit much for a single game though). He can't be afraid to use hisby Sarli - Hockey

Re: Tied at 3 - 20 years ago
UGH, another infidel scores. Granted listening to the WMU broadcast makes it tough to tell if its sub par goaltending or poor defensive play, but the guy did say WMU was taking advantage of a frosh goalie. I wonder what kind of hook Coach has? Haven't really had this problem in recent years.by Sarli - Hockey
Re: Murray's Interview - 21 years ago
Favorite Quote from the interview with Murray: Announcer: (paraphrase) So you cut down you're penalty minutes: Murray: "I got soft..." I missed the rest of his answer I was laughing so hard.by Sarli - Hockey

It's contagious: Even Nieuwendyk scored! I put this in the other thread, but I thought I'd inform all of those too engrossed in the CU-union "game"by Sarli - Hockey

Re: copyrights - 21 years ago
Not to be a pain in the ass, but wouldn't "welcome to Lynah East" on the front and "GO Red" be enough of a slap in face of our beloved ( ) fellow Ivy, hahvahd (sucks) ? and seemingly generic enough to avoid copyrights? Just a thought.by Sarli - Hockey
Re: Elliott - 21 years ago
wouldn't goalie standards be different? How many teams alternate goalies and WIN the Cup? Most often the winning team has a great goalie and a back up, who never sees the ice. The skaters can jump on the ice for a 20 second shift and be considered to have played in a game. Last I've checked, goalies don't do line changes, so it stands to reason that if you dressed for the game then you'd be elby Sarli - Hockey
Re: OT: Early candidate for the worst movie of the year. - 21 years ago
I disagree. I think the Clancy books are much better than the movies. With the exception of Hunt For Red October, but that had Sean Connery working for it. That Said Sum of All fears was horribly untrue to the book. But I won't get started, I could go on forever. Starting with it all happening in the WRONG city.by Sarli - Hockey
Re: [NHL] I went to a hockey game... - 21 years ago
Hate to tell you but Carolina did NOT sell out Game 1 of the Conference Finals. I'm sorry but THE CONFERENCE FINALS!! Come walk up, buy tickets 1/2 hr before face-off. Good Seats still available! Also, anyone else notice how loud the leafs contingent was in NC?by Sarli - Hockey

Re: CU- QU game analysis - 22 years ago
I wouldn't mind leaving ONE UNH player wide open at the top of the crease with a 6 goal lead late in the third period. So long as its really late in the period.by Sarli - Hockey
