Re: IT'S A TRAP! Cornell vs Princeton - 9 days ago
BearLoverTwo dumb penalties, one by O’Leary in the offensive zone and one by Bancroft retaliating after being pushed headfirst into the boards. If Bancroft stays down he maybe even draws five minutes there. Crazy that such a scary hit ended up in a 4x4. The way those penalties were announced, and the way they appear, for now, in the box score, is cross-checking on Bancroft and embellishment onby andyw2100 - Hockey

billhoward We wuz there, section M, opposite from the Cornell bench (townies, faculty, grizzled alums). But many students were not at Lynah. This is the last weekend before classes resume. About 500 short of a full house, 3794 announced vs. 4267 capacity. It looked right barren as the game began (photo). But the energy was there, nervous energy until we got up 3-0. Are you going to be there agaby andyw2100 - Hockey

Jeff Hopkins '82 According to the Brown website, the penalty was for staying on the ice too long during warmups. It also says that they were one of three ECAC teams assessed that penalty last night. Sounds like the league has a new bogeyman. Sure hope someone lets Andreev know about this...by andyw2100 - Hockey

Trotsky To be fair there is nothing else for the cameras to look at at Achilles. It's like a Day Care. Half the crowd is under 8. The little girl in the blue jacket taunting our guys in the penalty box has been amusing.by andyw2100 - Hockey

From the Sacred Heart thread, where I had asked about a possible rule change that caused the ref to force Sacred Heart's coach to either play their backup goalie or use their timeout while their goalie dealt with an equipment issue in the crease: Give My Regards This is a change to Rule 14 ("Adjustments to Clothing and Equipment" ) that was adopted this season. RichH profudge And she showed up in break between 1st and 2nd period to say hello to the crowd at the game tonight, and then lead the crowd in a GO BIG RED cheer... Had her son with her! Impressive! That’s not the cheer. Happy to report that she actually did wind up her remarks by saying, "Let's -- Go -- Red!" Dunc Also here’s a link to the cheers sheet me and laserwhisperer made that we are distributing tonight (thanks to Andyw2100 for providing an old cheer sheet for inspiration) -the printed version has a QR code to ELynah on it so we may see an increase in student users tonight haha This is really excellent. Trotsky I will see the boys live for the first time in over 3 years. If you are going to be there please swing by to say hi and/or drink ourselves into oblivion afterwards. I will be with Anne on the red line on the townie side about 8 rows up in, I dunno, is that M? Harvard sucks! Let's Go Red! Yes, that is M. ACM Here is the link to the NCAA rule book. You can download the PDF for free. Research the answers to your questions there. Thanks, Arthur. I found this, which I believe we all knew: -- 12. When video review confirms the scoring of a goal at one end of the ice, any goal scored at the other end during intervening action must be disallowed. -- I also found this, which was not specifby andyw2100 - Hockey

Trotsky andyw2100Here's one for the guys that are on top of the rules: if they had ruled the original contact a penalty against the UConn player, would Rego's penalty that happened later have stood?I can't imagine a penalty gets taken off the board if time is rolled back. It's not a save point. The infraction against the rules still occurred. Assuming you are correct, what do they do if a penby andyw2100 - Hockey

ugarte dbilmes 3) Did anyone get an explanation what the officials were looking for when they had that lengthy video replay after the penalty on Rego early in the second period? The play didn't seem to justify such a lengthy delay.I think Rego's stick got high and up into the helmet but it looked like it rode up his body rather than being a direct crack to the shield. ER I’m actually listening to the UConn audio and syncing it with the video feed. Slightly more bearable. At least I can hear the crowd. Thanks. I may try doing that myself. Edit: Tried it. Didn't like it. Couldn't really hear much more.by andyw2100 - Hockey

I thought the following was interesting, and not something I remember seeing before, so I thought I'd see what others think. At 17:02 the second period the Sacred Heart goalie was having some sort of equipment issue. After a fairly short time one of the refs skated over to the Sacred Heart bench and told their coach to either put in a backup or take a time out. Trotsky As a Section C Exile, it was wonderful to see the kids extend all the way from A to H. I hope cheers are starting to sync up again. As another Section C exile, now in M, I think you may be expecting too much from sections D,E,F, etc. From the C split down very few students even stand for the Alma Mater.by andyw2100 - Hockey

Trotsky ugarte only concern is steinburg left the ice after getting hit on the hand or wrist early in the period (his glove was still on the ice for seger's goal iirc) and i'm not sure if he's been out on the ice again.Vanini said Matt's lost glove might actually have confused Hopkins on Seger's goal. Re: Cornell @ Quinnipiac Fri 2/25/22 - 11 months ago
ACM Guess there was a massive bookkeeping exercise at the end of last night's game. Minors and miscoducts against everyone on the ice. What I once referred to as "a whole mess of penalties". Yes, but they missed Quinnipiac's extra skater. Five skaters on each team got 2 minutes for roughing and 10 minute minors. So 60 minutes per team. But nothing for Quinnipiac's extra attacker!by andyw2100 - Hockey

Trotsky andyw2100 Trotsky Ben Tupker has apparently "learned something today," as he is out of the healthy scratch dog house and back in, for Kovich who still seems really dinged up. ice A Q player cleared the stick away into center ice to make it hard for the Cornell player to retrieve it. About a minute later, a second Cornell player lost his stick and the same thing happened so that two Cornell players didn't have their sticks. I have never seen that in a hockey game before. The ref called the second stick clearer (Brendan Less) for a 2 minute interference penalty. Iby andyw2100 - Hockey
