Jeff Hopkins '82 Trotsky Lake Placid was great again this year, and I am glad it is our tournament home. Anne and I have seen us win 7 ECAC titles now. LGR! I've seen 7 wins, too. I missed 1986, but saw 1980. Seven for me too. (Same seven as Greg.) But can any of you say you've seen Cornell win the title with three different wives? On the road to Lake Placid with Kim. Wondering how others feel about rooting interest in the SLU vs. Quinnipiac game. Personally I'm rooting for SLU, because I think Cornell has a greater chance of beating them should we beat Dartmouth and make the finals. (And because Quinnipiac is high on my list of teams to dislike.) But I expect some here will be rooting for Quinnipiac, with the logic being tby andyw2100 - Hockey

fastforward andyw2100 Jim Hyla CORNELL SECTION TICKETS HERE. I just tried the password CORNELL24 and it worked, the section opened. Happy searching. Any one have any idea what may be going on in rows G, H, I in Section 11? Those seats are blocked. They aren't blocked for the band, supposedly, because the band is supposed to be in Section 12. Maybe player’s family? That's a great guessby andyw2100 - Hockey

pmbblblaw will we be able to get tix online? If so, at what website? Cornell ticket office or Brooks Arena? will the entire section be available? is it general admission or assigned seating? thanks. Last year as soon as the game ended a code was available (possibly on the scoreboard, but definitely, at a minimum, at the ticket office) that allowed us to purchase online, in the Cornell section,by andyw2100 - Hockey

Trotsky Beeeej Incidentally, this particular combination of four teams has never before been in the ECAC semis, Lake Placid or not. Q’s history in the conference may be relatively brief, but it’s also already twenty years.Nicely noticed, Beeej. TBRW is missing Yale in 1986, Greg.by andyw2100 - Hockey

Dunc What the fuck. They kicked me out cuz for starting Garry glitter due to “swears”.. in my last Cornell hockey game… I’m literally crying….- That's ridiculous! I'm guessing the band didn't play it because they somehow thought Schafer didn't want them to? I really don't think that was his intention. jtwcornell91 Jeff Hopkins '82 pmbblblaw Anyone know where the Cornell fan section will be at Lake Placid this year? Probably hasn't been assigned yet. They used to assign the four corners before the quarterfinals, but that was back when they had paper tickets, since the winners of the quarterfinal series could take the tickets with them. upprdeck its interesting because when I talk to locals I find almost no one who has espn+ to watch games.. I'm local and have ESPN+ to watch away games and home games if I am out of town. But I'm probably not a great example. I also paid $15 per game or whatever it was to watch away games not on ILDN.by andyw2100 - Hockey

Trotsky You may have heard about an Ohio State player who speared a Minnesota player on the bench last night. Here is the same piece of shit in a USHL game 2 years ago with a friend of ours. Also a fine example of derp announcing. Iceberg ugarte the pp that got cut short by the Fegaras interference penalty was a blitzkrieg. more of that, please. That was one of the scummiest attempts to draw a penalty I've seen. The Q player clearly backed into him and them embellished so well that he could've gotten an Oscar nomination. Thankfully it didn't result in anything And came off the ice openly laughing about it!by andyw2100 - Hockey

BearLover I meant televised on actual TV. The games on ESPN+ tend to have one commercial timeout per period. Games on actual TV tend to have three commercial timeouts per period (at least pro games and college games in the NCAA tournament). Tonight’s game had three per period. Speaking about the ads, why were there no Cornell ads? In the past, the school ads were split evenly between both schooby andyw2100 - Hockey
Re: Jack O’Leary mic’d up at morning skate - 5 months ago
billhoward I'd like to hear the Lynah audience mic'd up next time Jack O'Leary is in the penalty box and the crowd chants "Free O'Leary." This doesn't bother you? I mean there have been some stupid chants over the years, but cheering for the opposing team to score is pretty high on the stupid list for me.by andyw2100 - Hockey

abmarks ER A bunch of people still do the throwing of the newspaper before game play and they didn’t seem to mind that. Correct. But the fish are way harder to clean up and dangerous etc. Clearing newspapers has been mastered for speed and efficacy; guts n eyeballs not so much. ugarte Says Military Appreciation night. Are we getting camo jerseys tonight or just a salute to a guy who served in Korea and has voted against every winning Ithaca mayoral candidate in the last 25 elections? Season ticket holders were encouraged to "return" tickets that we would not be using and Cornell would then distribute these tickets to campus veterans.by andyw2100 - Hockey
Re: Cornell Hockey Jerseys? - 5 months ago
underskill jtwcornell91 RichH ugarte Trotsky The replica jerseys aren't great unfortunately.no need to be so harsh this looks pretty sharp for a youth jersey Maybe better than the real thing these days, as this replica has the lower stripe historically correct. The roads the team has been wearing are now just Red Wing blanks with the white going all the way to the bottom hem. It's just wrong.by andyw2100 - Hockey

ugarte Trotsky The Harvard-Dartmouth shootout was hilarious. did they confiscate their sticks? 18 guys shot for each team. They each had at most 19 non-goalies dressed. marty David Harding It's certainly true that the band is not allowed to play while the puck is in action, but there is no restriction on vocalizing within limits of decency. But if the band was told to make sure they finish early enough that there is no acapela singing, that just sucks. If the band was told this it was what...three or four years ago, at least, right?
