Re: ECAC '25 semifinal Red vs. Q - 3 months ago
stereax andyw2100 stereax Not the only one here in a jersey. Older lady here with a 26 that has a C on it... who would that be? That would be my daughter, Bevi, in Topher Scott's senior year home jersey. Older lady...she's all of 31! We have become acquainted and I'm like 2/3 of that age, forgive me :'( Forgiven. stereax I'm sittin here like "powerplay with 50 seconds left", the TV's not showing the game, I got it on my phone and another girl in a Cornell jersey migrates over and dear god the entire bar heard us scream when it went in. HAHAHAHA I love this team. And that would be my other daughter, Ilana. (She texted me that she watched the goal on "some girl's phone."by andyw2100 - Hockey

Men's Game and Women's Game Watch Party at Collegetown Bagels - 3 months ago
Another thread mentioned a watch party for the men's game downtown. There's also going to be a watch party at Collegetown Bagels in Collegetown, with both the men's and the women's games being shown. This may be a good option for those who can't easily get downtown and/or for those who want to watch both games.by andyw2100 - Hockey

BlueSky Call it rose colored glasses but I could see an amazing run and 2 W's in LP and a second Whitelaw in a row. BlueSky I'd love the story of 2 wins in LP and a trip to the NCAA's where we know ANYTHING can happen. #LGR Should this happen it would mean a great set of bookends for Schafer. He would have won the ECAC championship his first two years as coach, his last two years as coach, aby andyw2100 - Hockey

stereax Btw, the Boatyard Grill in Ithaca is streaming the women's game on Friday, with other Faithful and food to order... debating on going, given it's about a 30-minute walk one way... thoughts? Will be in Lake Placid watching the men's game and the women's game on my phone between periods. If I was going to be in Ithaca and the men weren't playing I would probably have gone to The Boatyardby andyw2100 - Hockey
Re: Lake Placid ECAC Championship Tickets - 3 months ago
arugula You sure that it was over spring break? I have a distinct memory of my roommate and I staying up late on a thursday night, watching Letterman, driving overnight to Newark, flying to Denver, through Dallas, bullshitting our way into a fraternity house at the Colorado School of Mines, which actually was on spring break, so they had room for us, then seeing the two games, and flying back onby andyw2100 - Hockey

Give My Regards I hope you're talking about 1969 and not 1986, 'cause 86 wasn't that long ago, dammit! 1986 was over spring break, so he probably wouldn't have been outside a U-Hall. I remember being in Vermont to ski, with my future wife/future ex-wife, and finding the scores both mornings in a newspaper. Stupid total goals series!by andyw2100 - Hockey

Jim Hyla andyw2100 andyw2100 Anne 85 Good news: Sections have been assigned for in Lake Placid. Cornell is Section 16 (and I was able to buy 2 tickets). Bad news: Looks like Section 16 is now sold out. But there are still plenty of tickets in the Dartmouth and Quinnipiac sections and you don't seem to need a code to access tickets in the corner sections. CU2007 Happened pretty quickly. I bet he just instinctively jumped and then felt foolish shortly afterwards. Can't really disagree, but...watching the replay the player that jumped came from right between Harder and another coach. Either of them could have sent him.by andyw2100 - Hockey

djk26 marty djk26 marty Give My Regards Never seen that before. Woody Hayes play without the punch. What happened? No tv for me, and I doubt whatever it was will be on the highlights (assuming they get posted.) It probably will be in the highlights because a goal was awarded. The power play was winding down. The net was empty and Bancroft freed the puck along the boards. In a flash as heby andyw2100 - Hockey
Re: Lake Placid ECAC Championship Tickets - 3 months ago
Anne 85 I think last year the Cornell ticket office provided a code or a link that would let you get tickets in the corners, but the sections aren't assigned until all of the teams have been determined. Thanks! I thought that could be the case. I do remember two years ago we were able to get the code from the athletic ticket office immediately after the game on Saturday night. Lake Placid ECAC Championship Tickets - 3 months ago
Anyone have info on what section we'll be in? This is the link to purchase tickets: It looks like there are lots of tickets sold everywhere but the four corners reserved for the schools that make it, and that there are no tickets sold yet in those four corners.by andyw2100 - Hockey

stereax Weder stereax - I think the players on the team who didn't dress for the game today have on silly costumes. Saw a girl dressed as a bear and a girl in a red bodysuit. I think those might have been team alums. I saw most of the players who weren't in the lineup on the ice on the broadcast during the trophy ceremony, and they were all in regular street clothes. That would track. I figureby andyw2100 - Hockey
Re: Opponent and other news and results of interest 2024-2025 - 3 months ago
upprdeck Imagine what the crowd would have been had Cornell not brought so many. I'm guessing Cornell fans made up perhaps 1/4 to 1/3 of the crowd in Hamilton last night. Our band outnumbered their band three or four to one.by andyw2100 - Hockey
Re: ECAC Quarterfinals at Colgate - 3 months ago
VIEWfromK Two wins this weekend and they can totally redeem themselves. And get revenge for 2022, when Colgate came into Lynah for the quarter-finals series and prevented us from advancing to Lake Placid.by andyw2100 - Hockey
Re: Cornell vs Yale 03/08 - 3 months ago
VIEWfromK andyw2100 Since Yale had already lost their timeout when they lost the second challenge, if the third review was not a challenge but rather something the refs were reviewing on their own, then had the review not resulted in the major penalty, Yale would not have been hit with a minor penalty. If, in fact, the third review was also a challenge, then Yale was risking a minor penalty. Iby andyw2100 - Hockey
Re: Women 2024-25 - 3 months ago
Jim Hyla upprdeck Having all 4 women's semis on at the same time does not help with building the game? that's a strange schedule And it's a real bummer that our Regional finals game is at 4. Ending after 6 means you can't get to Colgate for the faceoff. And that probably means reduced turnout for both. If the men win on Friday, do I watch all of the women's on Sat, then leave for Colgatby andyw2100 - Hockey

jtwcornell91 So where do visiting fans sit at StarrClass of 1965 Arena? Hopefully there will be enough of us that anywhere we sit will have other Cornell fans. I'm planning on going Friday night, and Sunday if necessary, but will stay in Ithaca for the women's NCAA game on Saturday. If their game was a 3:00 PM start instead of the 4:00 PM start I would have seriously considered making the drby andyw2100 - Hockey

ACM andyw2100 This is a question for ACM. For the firs two Yale challenges of goals, I believe you made an announcement that used the word "challenge." For the third Yale review I believe you used the term "Official Review." Listening from the stands, we thought that perhaps that meant that the Yale bench had convinced the refs to review the play on their own, without it beby andyw2100 - Hockey

ugarte andyw2100 billchu GWG looks like a tip by Georgia Schiff. I thought it went in off a Clarkson player.that's what it looked like to me also but even in slomo it's hard to follow the deflection because the camera is moving (EDIT: definitely off the leg of the Clarkson defender at the top of the crease) Neither of the recaps posted by the schools mention the puck hitting the Clarkson playby andyw2100 - Hockey

One thing that I don't think has been talked about much is that the injuries affect things well beyond who is dressed for a game. The injuries had a negative impact on how hard and with what lines the team could practice. I'm guessing the injuries also resulted in a lot of guys playing at 60 or 70%. I'm not suggesting the injuries were all that was responsible to the results thus far this season,by andyw2100 - Hockey
