Re: Straight from deep throat - 20 years ago
I believe there was a federal law enacted (or soon to be enacted) dealing with the release of a person's medical history and further protecting a patient's privacy by ensuring that written consent is obtained for release of information. It's called HIPAA. Health Information Privacy Act (don't remember the last A.) It came out in April or May.by Erica - Hockey

Re: Harvard/Brown away weekend - 20 years ago
brown is only about a 45 minute drive from Boston. Is it possible to stay in Boston and go out after the Brown game without drinking yourself to DTs so that you can drive back to Boston that same night? Really, you don't have to go crazy to have a good time.by Erica - Hockey

I think everybody should get free copies of the good CDs, seeing how incompetent this company is.by Erica - Hockey
Re: Allowing fish? - 20 years ago
Yeah, but come on. Slope Day is against a lot of rules (including the law, in more ways than one), and while they fall short of condoning that, they certainly aren't actively prohibiting it. I think they take this fish thing way too far, in my opinion.by Erica - Hockey

Re: Ivy League booze? - 20 years ago
Tom, try Lucatelli's. It's across the street from Northside. My family went there the night of my graduation, and my Italian stepfather was impressed. Therefore, it must be more than decent.by Erica - Hockey

The best red drink ever is cranberry and Malibu (Parrot Bay if Malibu is unavailable.) I suggested it to my mom, and now she's got the whole city of Naples, FL drinking it.by Erica - Hockey

It's hard to explain, and if I could explain I wouldn't be allowed to, but I can kind of do both at the same time.by Erica - Hockey

What about those of us who don't have Flash? The problem with working for the DoD is that you can't just download any program on to your work computer. So basically I just have to look at the fingerprints?by Erica - Hockey

Reminds of a friend in high school. She is Korean, and when somebody once referred to her as "Oriental," her response was, "Furniture is Oriental, people are Asian." I will always remember that, and have never called a person Oriental again. Of course, I call people from India, the Middle East, Singapore and Indonesia Asians, too.by Erica - Hockey

Re: [OT] ALCS: Red Sox vs Yankees - 20 years ago
I am so tired of hearing all day about how it's all Little's fault. While I do believe that maybe he should have taken Pedro out, you have to look at all the angles. 1) It is not a certainty that the Red Sox would have won had the relievers come in. True, they had been pretty much lights-out, but that doesn't mean the Yankees wouldn't have rallied against them either. If that had happened, Littby Erica - Hockey
Re: Cornell alumni in the ECHL - 20 years ago
I was wondering where Kris was going to end up. I know he married his college sweetheart, Jen Borncamp, and she's in graduate school in California. She said he was trying to play hockey. I'm glad things have worked out (more or less) for them.by Erica - Hockey
Re: Cornell Hockey Sightings - 20 years ago
One pet peeve of mine is the lumping of a fan-base into one generalized entity: "All Yankee fans are cocky, arrogant, loudmouths" "All Red Sox fans are whiny losers." "All Dodger fans leave after the 7th innning." "All Colgate fans are drunken fratboys." "All Cornell fans swear every other word." Pet peeve of mine as well. And I absolutelby Erica - Hockey
Re: Cornell Hockey Sightings - 20 years ago
Sully, I agree that he's done a decent job, but do you remember how horrendous the bullpen was in the beginning of the season? Maybe it's just that when I lived in Boston, the fatalistic attitude made it seem like they were worse than they actually were. My point isn't to compare it to the Yankees, my point is that most GM's wouldn't have the mostly unlimited resources ($$$$) that Theo had to beby Erica - Hockey
Re: Cornell Hockey Sightings - 20 years ago
I know that Rich, and I personally think that Theo Epstein would have been fired if he hadn't remotely improved the horrendous bullpen he put together before the season. My only beef with Little is that he always quotes that he absolutely 100% trusts little Kim and he would never hesitate to go to any of the middle relievers when the time comes, er, that is, when Pedro isn't available to play supby Erica - Hockey
Re: Cornell Hockey Sightings - 20 years ago
Actually, I was rather amused when I saw Pedro warming up in the 8th inning of, I believe, the third game. When it comes down to it, if Little really trusts the bullpen, why would he have Pedro warming up? and he wasn't just throwing just to throw, he was warming up in anticipation of entering the game.by Erica - Hockey
Re: Meaningless Preseason Polls Put Us at #2 in ECAC - 20 years ago
Good golly, what does one have to do to be picked first? We could have won the national championship last year and returned all our starters and they still would have put Harvard on top.by Erica - Hockey

Re: Nieuwendyk - 21 years ago
I'd have to say, Rich, that while I respect the Red Sox/Yankees rivalry, I don't care any more about those games than I do about any other ones. The best thing about them is that I get to see a Yankees game on TV up here in Boston. (I'm actually going to Monday's game) Sure, I want them to win them more because the Red Sox and Yankees are usually so close in the standings. I actually prefer Mets/by Erica - Hockey
Re: Those of us not going to Buffalo... - 21 years ago
You're not alone, Tom. I'm not going either. But if I can't go to Buffalo, I certainly won't be going to SF. Sorry, you might be on your own there. You can come to Boston and watch it with me in my apartment.by Erica - Hockey
Re: Yale game in Boston? - 21 years ago
There is no doubt that I could get Boston Beer Works to show the game. The owners are Cornellians and my boyfriend is a manager there. They might show it at the front bar (the one by Fenway.) If they showed the finale of the Bachelorette I'm sure I can get them to show this. I'll talk to him later tonight and let y'all know. I might be there anyway watching it just because he's working most ofby Erica - Hockey
Re: - 21 years ago
Let it be known that I do not consider myself a Republican or a Democrat, or a conservative or a liberal. I don't even know what any of those labels mean. I just believe what I believe, regardless of what "party" those beliefs may fall into. Again, my biggest beef with mr. prez is what he says, not necessarily what he does. He tells us something when we all know he completely means sby Erica - Hockey
Re: - 21 years ago
I only wonder why he insists on getting rid of the dividend tax for principality reasons, (he doesn't believe it's fair to double tax), yet when it comes to the double tax on Social Security (which affects much more the middle class), and is sometimes even a triple tax for those receiving it, he is mum. I made a whopping 22 dollars last year in dividends, I think I might actually save .82 with thby Erica - Hockey
Re: OT: New ECAC Hockey Fans? - 21 years ago
That was really weird because when I first saw the plural word "fans" for some reason the first thought in my head was that it was the Olsen twins. Why I thought that I have absolutely no idea. That is very disturbing. I have been having a lot of prescient thoughts lately. I hope I have good dreams about the hockey team.by Erica - Hockey
Re: LeNeveu for Hobey - 21 years ago
I know the first E isn't capitalized. I capitalized all of them for emphasis. What's up your butt dude? I understand mistakes, but I also understand proofreading. And by no means are you the first one to do it. That's why it is irking. Because it happens all the time....by Erica - Hockey
