The $$$ to compete in football and basketball might get to be so huge that programs like Michigan, Minnesota, Wisconsin will be forced to choose between them and minor sports. Trotsky BearLover abmarks As i understand It, the payments are to come from revenues. Unless schools can boost their revenues, if they pay any of the athletes, they're going to be having to cut back somewhere else. The money doesn't come from thin air. billhoward Local MotionRegardless, the future is bright for Cornell lacrosse and Go Big Red!!! Agree with all you said. At some point when older alumni fans look at lacrosse or hockey, we'd kind of like our present to look bright. Same way you feel as a graduating senior hearing next year looks bright when you've come close the past four. For older alums, there may no longer be enough tomorrows lby Swampy - Other Sports

mike1960 Local Motion Actually Gilmartin against Penn leveled a guy that knocked the ball out and set up a quick score by Cornell. Cornell has some exciting rising sophomores going into next season. Cornell has the fire power, but all I am saying is our defense needs to be more physical. Even though Cornell had a great season, we lost the overall season turnover battle 202 to 215. Re: Bye-bye Ben - 24 days ago
The Cornell website still has Ben as Associate HC. But unless he can be Cornell's AHC and Princeton's HC at once, I suppose this has to be updated. Does anyone know for sure that Flanagan is being promoted or what other coaching changes for Cornell Men's Hockey are afoot? Also, since Ben oversaw recruiting, have any recruits coming in 2024 changed their minds? What about those lined up forby Swampy - Hockey

billhoward Heh! That actually makes sense: play the later game, take a little off the advantage of playing at home. Assuming the Ivy League made rational decisions. I was thinking they were thinking more people would turn out for a late game. Or they (ILT wizards) were thinking: More Cornell folk are local when it's in Ithaca, so the late game is no big deal getting home. Whereas the Yale andby Swampy - Other Sports

dbilmes I don't know if this story has a paywall, but there was a nice article about Anthony Nimani, a guard from Connecticut who will play at Cornell next season. billhoward This year, Friday games are 6 and 8:30. When the day's temp will reach the high 70s in the afternoon. Won't be as nice Sunday, rain not (yet) forecast. billhoward Right! The Omar Kanjis of the lacrosse world work just as hard as the starters and the stars. upprdeck All students get free bus passes all over the city now. you can bus up to EHP. Its not that far. compare it to many colleges. CU77 mike1960 For an ND broadcasting team, I thought they weren't too homerish I thought Booker and George (brothers, cousins of ND coach Kevin) did a great job, far superior to the Quint/Carc clown car. arugula BearLover Laughing at teams like BC/BU/NoDak/Quinnipiac losing just doesn’t hit the same when they’ve won national championships recently.
