In the NYC metro area, Wendy's is offering their new boneless wings free from 11-2 and 5-8 today. Dining room only. No idea how many restaurants are participating.

On September 7, Chick-fil-A offers a free Chick-fil-A Chicken Sandwich when you wear your favorite sports team logo from 10:30 am to close.

Tickets and Access:[/i] Admission to the Picnic Area will be free for Columbia University and Barnard College students with valid Columbia Card and Barnard College ID. Game tickets are required for admission to the Picnic Area for all other patrons.

It's certainly possible that this is an error, although this isn't particularly ambiguous wording:

The Pre-game Picnic Area features communal barbecue grills, picnic tables and a beverage concession stand serving soft drinks and beer. The concession stand will open ninety (90) minutes prior to kickoff and close thirty (30) minutes after kickoff. All beverages will be free of charge.

I mean, if soft drinks were free and beer was not, why would you say "beverages" rather than "soft drinks"?

Either way, this got picked up by the Wall Street Journal, so perhaps it'll be called to their attention and they'll correct it if it's wrong.

Or maybe key them into a great promotion.  I mean, if you're willing to schelp all the way to 218th street for free beer, you might as well take in some action of their craptacular football team for the effort.
