Yeah, that's pretty bogus.  Isn't the whole point supposed to be that only stats in Ivy League games count?

This is a really dumb question that's going to show my ignorance but... what happens with this team?  Is it like a fantasy sports thing just to honor the guys that do well?  Or does this team actually play something against another all-conference team?

Regardless of whether my post was predictable or not, the press release is still factualy incorrect in terms of Moulson's rank unless you take a particular view of the stats that the All-Ivy teams are not supposed to use.  At least as I understand the "rules" anyway.

This is not to say that Moulson doesn't deserve to be on the All-Ivy first team this year.  There's more to hockey than points on the scoresheet, even if post-season awards and teams usually rely heavily on numbers.  The six Ivy coaches (they're the ones who vote, right?)may have felt that he was one of the four best players on the ice this season among Ivy players, during Ivy games.  Reading the comments here would often lead you to a different conclusion.  Gratz to Matt for impressing the voters and getting the nod even when his stats weren't eye popping.  If he made All-Ivy based on reputation or an incorrect reading of the stats, then just congrats on the award.

They probably get a little plaque congratulating them for being selected all Ivy. Mostly it's to give SIDs something to do when they get bored of shooting nerf hoops in their offices.
