Looking to get a little guidance on something that might not be allowed at Lynah.  The questions is, do they allow the word "Suck" on signs?

I've always liked the "Hey, Dov, you're not a goalie, you're a sieve..." cheer.  So I thought I'd make up the series for this weekend's games.  On goal #1, we hold up "SIEVE".  On #2, it changes to "FUNNEL".  And so on.  And if the guys are hot enough to get #5, up goes "You Just SUCK!".  But I don't want to antagonize the ushers and risk ejection.  So, can anyone confidently state whether it's allowed?

BTW, part of the beauty of this is that we got our seats through the opponents' ticket offices, so we'll be in Section O, right in the midst of what they thought would be their fans.

They'll preview the signs and take away anything they deem vulgar. Unfortunately, sucks sometimes falls into that category with them.  ::screwy::

Hey, The word suck seems to be pretty borderline. At the Colgate game, a sign that read "4 out of 5 dentists say you Suck" was taken away but they allowed the person to stay and see the game. However, they seem to allow everyone to scream you suck whenever they want.::screwy::  So in the end, I dont have the foggiest idea of what would be allowed but don't be surprised if they take away the sign saying You Just Suck.

You could use ellipses to finish the last sign. I think the people on the student side will know what to do.

I figured that might happen.  At Harvard last November, they took away our "Harvard Sucks" sign, even though I saw Dartmouth fans displaying one about 6 feet wide when they were there for their game.

How about "S*CKS"?

At least my opinion as to what the coach might think.

i (joining killer in sec. O) was thinking of "these parents' players suck," given that the majority of their fans from last year were the harvard kids parents. but i assume that'll get canned by the lynah gestapo.

I've got most of my two signs made already, and the ushers would have to do some serious reaching to toss these out. Then again...::rolleyes::

French Rage

They'll take away a sign with "SUCKS", bot nothing'll happen to you.  Also, I dont recall much of a sign check at the door.

why not just fold a sign up and tape it to your back... then pull it out once inside

At least at the Section A door they are asking to see whatever signage you bring in the rink. They ask us every weekend to see our "Don't mess with Texas" license plate, you think they'd remember it by now.

I'd say do it.... just leave out the Dov part, cause he graduated

P.S. Someone in section 0 had a "This band sucks" sign, I believe against Clarkson, and they held it up the whole game without incident

Taking away a sign with sucks on it is a bit much.  Soon the chants are going to be like " I regretfully disapprove of the other team's on-ice conduct!" Take that!
