Cornell at Harvard Tickets

Although I usually just read the posts to satiate my love of Cornell hockey I thought that I would let everyone know that the Cornell ticket office received 100 tickets for the Harvard game on feb. 15th yesterday.  As of this morning when I bought mine the ticket office lady had about 40 or so left.  They are in the middle of section 14.

Also, as a side note, while I was waiting in line this year I was told by one of the ticket checkers that this year there are fewer seats in Lynah due to them having to increase the size for each seat due to people "taking up more space" (take this for what you want it to mean).  So this year, there were 812 line numbers for students and last year there were upwards to 1000.

Hmm.  That's just odd.  How would you go about that if you had this task?  I'm guessing they didn't renumber all the seats.  At the same time, USCHO lists the Lynah capacity as 3,836 now, which isn't very different than recent years.

And as of 2 pm Tuesday, the ticket office employee told me they had 8-10 tickets for the road game in Cambridge, which conflicts with Ben's report.  Either way, not many are left.

Drew,

I think they might have been pulling one over on you. I was at Lynah for the Red & White game and when to check on my seats this year, which is right by where my seats were last year... and my old seats, which were a higher number in the row, are still there. Had seats been made wider, those numbers certainly would have been lost.

Also, as Rich pointed out, the capacity is still listed as the same. The only possible thing I could figure they meant is that more people were buying two tickets, and he tried to find a cute way to say it. I remember two years ago, they said they'd sell 1600 student tickets. If the vast majority get 2 tickets, that's about 800 line numbers, so it sounds right.

Besides, why would the athletic office lose out on season ticket money simply so people are more comfortable?? Come on, this *is* Cornell :-).

Maybe they're taking a page out of the Southwest Airlines book and they will just charge people more for taking up extra space. ;-)

That should bode well for revenues when the rather portly "Ugly Sweater Guy" is in town...

Well, the last renovation actually added 12 seats (in the front of C) so the capacity went from 3824 to 3836.  Of course if that's changed, it might not have propagated to USCHO yet...

My seats are on the aisle, high numbered end, and exactly the same as before.

Just click on the big "Crimson Tickets Online" pic. It might say football on that page but once you click, you'll see football and hockey tickets.

Will

I'm an idiot.  The first time I went to that page (before I replied to your post), I didn't see the big "CRIMSON TICKETS ONLINE" button.  It doesn't matter now, I just purchased five tickets over the phone.  Unfortunately, they're in Section 2 Row C (on the Hahvahd side, grr).  But I'll deal.  If anything, half the fun will be just pissing off the Crimson fans around us. :-D :-D :-D

Hey, I'm in section 1, so, let's go for it. After all it's not called Lynah East for nothing. By the way got my tix in the mail today, so they came in about a week.

Just another ticket report. I called 1-877-Go-Harva and got 2 tickets in Section 4, right behind the Harvard bench.  Total cost $27 (which is $5 less than via the website)
