Or maybe St. Lawrence will be the real deal.  They've only split with Wisconsin, beat Miami and now VT, which go 1,2,3 in the poll.  Yep they dropped one to RIT, but I'll look past that...

I believe they tied miami (on the road though.)

I was thinking...

Vermont : Colgate :: Hockey East : ECAC(HL), according to KRACH, but this year it certainly looks like top of HE = top of ECAC(HL), which is certainly better than usual. Overall, it certainly seems like:

CCHA > WCHA > ECAC > HE, where the differences are very small. I think that's good for us.

Which turns out not to be born out by any facts:

Especially since they outshot RIT by something like 60-15 in that one

Well, that may be a bit strong. They're good. They'd probably be competing for top 4 in the ECAC again. But I agree that having them so high is the polls is just conference bias. If the same team were in the ECAC they'd be 10-15 like the rest of us.

This  is a VERY exciting SLU squad. Equal to, if not better than ,the Ron Mason led teams of the early 60's and even the teams of the late !980's.

With the return of their #1 defensemen and goalie you should see an improvement in goals allowed . Pesony GA is high, in part, due to frosh defenders.

Their freshman defenseman Generous is as good as it gets and freshman DeVirgilio makes moves that belie his first year status

Marsh led teams are historically stronger post Xmas.  Assuming that they avoid the injury bug - 6 players have been  out at one time -  this team is a NCAA  contender.

Unfortunately they have a tendency to do well against the biggies (UVM, Miami, Wisconsin) and tend to slump a bit when  they face few shots - e.g., RIT where the true count was in excess of 70 SOGs vs 15 for Tech.
