no big surprises here. Kennedy is described as a good faceoff man, we can always use another of those. Barlow is "expected to produce offense for the Big Red." Not that there was any doubt, but Dan DiLeo is described in this intro as a Todd Marr-esque backup goaltender: "He is a high-energy person who will work every day in practice to make himself and his teammates better."

Seems to be a little less size in this year's class than in some previous.  Or at least the three skaters who are 5'10" or under jumped out at me.  I'm not sure that means anything...

one glaring word missing from the class of 2009 announcement: speed...

not that there is anything wrong with that! :-)

i'll take work ethic, character, tenacity, competitiveness, intensity and so on over speed any day of the week.

And Barlow, described in the article as "an excellent skater," is supposed to be Topher Two.

Scott, although quick, would not be considered an excellent sakter or a fast skater.  From what I have read and heard, Barlow will not be much like Scott.  Barlow will be more comparable to Vesce in terms of size (3 inches is a big different), quickness, and goal scoring ability.  Scott is more of a setup man and more of a corner guy and half-wall guy (despite his size).  I think Barlow will be more of a presence off the rush and will shoot the puck more and got to the net more.  None of this is necessarily good or bad, but I am pretty sure Barlow will be pretty different than Scott.
And as Matt said, Connors is definitely fast.  In speaking with some of his former coaches and players who have played against him, although there has not been consensus about his offensive upside, everybody has said he has excellent speed and good size.
