Denver won tonight, 4-1 to capture their second straight national championship.

The year after DU last won back-to-back titles...

Well.

A good omen.  :-)

Thankfully, a three-peat seems unlikely.  Three senior D this year indicates that their goalies might be seeing a bit more rubber next year.  CC's and Minnesota's questions lie in goal, and Wisconsin's questions seem to be behind the bench.  I think UND looks like the strongest of the bunch.

Not that I want to sound too bitter, but at least we may not be looking at an all-WCHA Frozen Four next year.

I mistrust the ability of offensive defensemen to anchor a defense.

UND loses 10 seniors--including their best defensemen

Carle won't come back. I'd be surprised if Stastny came back as well.  Denver will be rebuilding next year.  CC, Minn, and Wisc will be the frontrunners in the WCHA.  OSU will win the CCHA (too many Mich players leaving).  I'll go with BU in Hockey East.
And of course us in the ECAC.  In fact, other than Dartmouth, we won't really be challenged at all to win the league.

Of course, to be fair, people said Denver would be rebuilding *this* year too.

I agree with most of what you said.  Michigan will still have the two best offensive players in the CCHA (Hensick, Tambellini) if they both stay.  Ohio State is losing only like two players, so they should theoretically be outstanding.  Minnesota will have a really really good team.  They have an amazing recruiting class and aren't losing much.  Wisconsin is more like Ohio State and are losing almost nothing while CC will return the two best offensive players in college hockey (although I still think they will be behind Minnesota and Wisconsin).  And as you said, the ECAC should likely be between Dartmouth and Cornell, although I wouldn't rule out St. Lawrence or even Princeton as contenders.

Anybody notice that one NoDak player taking a drink from DU goalie's bottle? That was absolutely hilarious! Did I see correctly that he got a penalty for that?

Yeah, he got Unsportsmanlike Conduct for that, and rightfully so.  But it was hilarious.
Is next year here yet?

Yeah, I laughed my ass off. I have no idea what the hell he was thinking. If anyone's got a video clip of that, I'd really love to see it on here.

Didn't that happen to McKee sometime last season?  I want to say it was a Clarkson player, but I could be sorely mistaken.  Regardless of who it was, I don't remember there being a penalty... just a bunch of us thinking "wait, did that REALLY just happen?"

Oh darn, I'm gonna miss the 50 or so NoDak newbie posters who joining USCHO in the last couple weeks and started 20 of the same threads.
