I don't have access to any tv right now but am interested in whether DirectTV is showing 658 because I need to decide quickly whether to go to bars or listen on the radio. Is anyone seeing Altitude Alternate now? What is this 5 pm EST thing that is mentioned?

I just spoke to someone at Directv.  She said if Altitude alternate is not broadcasting to DirecTV, there's nothing they can do.  She said I can try calling Altitude.

This doesn't give me confidence for our game.  ::help::

We'll see if it magically appears at 5pm Eastern.

The person at Altitude told me they *are* broadcasting the feed. But I guess being just an operator, she wouldn't know for sure.

The 5 PM thing is what the DirecTV guide information says. At the top of the screen it quotes an event as starting at 5 PM, and that event is the "West semifinal", although it *does* say basketball

I just got off the phone with a commercial sales supervisor at DirecTV. He confirmed that Altitude had asked DirecTV to activate Altitude's "alternate" programming on DirecTV channel 658 at 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time today. I was told that "college hockey game" was the only specific note about the programming content. I was also told that "activating" Altitude alternate on 658 did not necessarily mean that the program in question would start at 5:00 -- it could start later (an hour later, let's hope). At any rate, I think there are reasons to remain cautiously optimistic.
