What was the stupidest play made in Saturday's game vs. Union?

A. "Hand pass over the boards" by Jason Ortolano, Union
B. "Why cover the net when I can play the puck?" by Kris Mayotte, Union
C. "The 3rd Cornell goal, scored by #17 Doug Krantz! {Krantz!}" by Cornell PA Announcer (Goal actually scored by Charlie Cook, later corrected)
D. "How about we ice the puck on the power play!" by Jason Ortolano, Union (Right out of the RPI playbook)
E. "Obsene gestures with hands." by Jason Ortolano, Union
E. "Being John Murphy" by Referee John Murphy

FWIW, the PA announcer is required to annouce what the ref tells him on goals and assists.  John Murphy and the other refs who have been around a long time will ask Art for help if they have any doubt (usually on assists), since Art pretty much never misses the play, but if the ref says it was #17 on the goal and skates away, Art has to announce it that way, and change it later.

Then that choice will also be credited to John Murphy, as it was so blatantly Cook, Krantz was no where near.

After witnessing live the stupidest play ever made in college hockey (blueliner Jason Dailey passing through the slot in the Cornell zone directly to an opposing player who subsequently scored), I find it hard to grant the Stupid Award(TM) to anything that isn't close to that level of idiocy.

It happens a lot, just like at Vermont this year. However, choice "A" ranks right up there, and he knew it.

Wasn't there some evil Dartmouth goalie who was taunting the fans up at the glass of Section A and got scored on from our zone back in 2000 or so?
Yale?  MIT?  Cornell's the only one with a hockey team worth a *#$%!

Man, I hated that guy.  The worst was that we still lost.  *grrr*

IIRC, the 2002-2003 seniors only beat Dartmouth once in all the times they played them.

I don't often see that happen at the college level, Age; but I can assert that it happens all the time in amateur adult league hockey.  Then again, most of us have been playing for less than 3 years. :-)

Yeah.  You gotta love when I guy knows he's been stupid and hits himself in the head with his stick.  Not only the hockey is entertaining.

That was really priceless.  Wish I had a picture of that.

and the fact that we finally chased boucher ... so he could "open-close-open-close-open-close-open-close" the door to the bench for the entire third period ;-)
that was a great night, no doubt about it

I don't think he passed the puck through the crease. Though it was a long time ago, I seem to remember him stickhandling behind our net, losing control, and when reaching out to get the puck accidentally hit in right in front of the net.
