What are the four losses?  Dartmouth in 01-02, and RPI/WMU/OSU in 03-04?

Well, since the four losses were ECAC RS losses, i'd have to say WMU and OSU are not amongst them.

According to Age's handy ELynah Database, the losses would be Dartmouth, RPI, and Colgate last year, as well as Dartmouth three years ago.

The tie breaker with Harvard goes like this:

1) h2h (tied)

2) record vs top 4

We exclude the top 2, Cornell/Harvard.  So that leaves two from this column (current points):

30 Gate
26 Vermont
24 Dartmouth

Dartmouth can't catch Gate, so Gate becomes team #3 assured of being in the top 3.

Here's the record vs the three possible 3-4's:

Gate:

Cornell 1-0-1
Harvard 1-1-0

Vermont:

Cornell 1-0-1
Harvard 1-0-0 plus a game

Dartmouth:

Cornell 1-1-0
Harvard 1-0-0 plus a game

For Harvard to tie Cornell, they need to make up 5 points in the standings.  If Cornell got 0, they would have to go 2-0-1 with the tie coming either against one of the above teams or Brown.  If Cornell got 1 point, they would have to sweep all 3 remaining opponents.  Dartmouth could catch Vermont by beating Brown and having Vermont be swept.

So let's take a case that seems to be in Harvard's best interests:

Dartmouth gets 3 points
Harvard gets 5 (tying Dartmouth)
Cornell gets 0
Vermont gets 0
Gate gets 3 (anyway, less than 4)

That would leave the standings thus:

34 Cornell
34 Harvard
33 Gate
27 Dartmouth

The second tie breaker would then tie at 2-1-1, which sends us down to record against top 8.  I'm not going there.  Suffice that we have not (I don't think) clinched a tie-breaker win against Harvard of we tie them in the standings.

One Cornell win in the North Country will make all of this moot.

There's barroom discussion of mathmatical possibiliies and there's reality.

Cornell is unlikely to not win the ECAC RS title.

There is real doubt as to Cornell's ability to win the Ivy title. We're done. Harvard is two more games to play, against Brown Tuesday and at Dartmouth next Friday. The Cantabs need to lose one and then we tie for the title. That is possible but it of course is out of our hands.

As has been noted elsewhere, Cornell has once before gone into the final weekend needing just 1 point out of 4 to clinch the ECAC title ... and not done it. But that was long ago with a different coach and different players.

Another average performance tonight.  Of course good enough to win but it's gonna be a lot tougher from here on out.  McKee was tested a lot tonight because of an abnormal amount of defensive mistakes but he was really really good.  Hynes was great the whole weekend.

My 2 cents on the game:

-I am impressed with Glover, with him out there our defense does not miss a step. He fights for every puck and does not back down from anyone.  He also handles the puck quite well.   Salmela is decent too, although I wish he would shoot more since last year it appeared he had such a great shot from point.
-I thought that Union did a great job early on of covering our point men during the powerplay.  We had a difficult time getting set with so much pressure and as a result the early 5x3 was for naught.  Union seemed to get more loose with coverage as the game went on.  
-Glad to see that Mayo finally learned how to stop Iggy on the rush...to bad a few periods too late...
-I was not at last nights game, but I thought that the crowd was quite passive tonight...I know that is what people said about last night.
-The Union goal was a result of our guys bunching behind the net and leaving Poirier open in the slot.  The shot was perfect and McKee had no chance.  That is not to take away form the great saves that he made in the 2nd period on several point blank chances.  He has really matured from last year and has become the goaltender that we all hoped he would.  
- Great game by Moulson although the gift goal reminded me a lot of the 1999 game against Maine (I think that was '99).  As I was amidst a sea of Union people in Section O, the only player that they kept yelling at was Moulson so it was nice to see him with the trick.  

Let's hope we keep up the momentum in the North Country...LGR!!!

Nope.  He was one time lucky (second goal).  By looking at the box score you know about Moulson tonight.  One might now figure out how well Hynes played from the box score or the fact that Union got a lot scoring chances.

Well, he was certainly lucky in the "right time, right place" sense of the word for the first two goals.  The first a little scrum in front of the net and a tap in.  The 2nd a literally open net after Mayotte was a moron, and Hynes found Moulson streaking in front.

The third was a Moulson goal.  Wrister perfectly placed in the top-left corner.

Absolutely couldn't believe they made the annoucement after the hats were thrown on to ice to not throw objects.  In the NHL, nothing can be thrown EXCEPT for hats after a hat trick.
