I got tickets to the games in albany, and was wondering where people would recommend staying there.

I have to make a general recommendation for Priceline as far as hotels go. I think I got Albany last year for $40/night for a nice Courtyard (or was it a Comfort? either way it was perfect nice) out by the airport, and I'm sure I coulda gone lower.

I'd never used Priceline before then and I was impressed at the price. I then got Toronto for $40/night again.

If you're looking for a place real close to the arena, and price isn't an object... if they still have rooms (I figure they will now, but I'm not sure), you can always go to the Crowne Plaza. I stayed there in '03. It's a 3 to 4 block walk from the arena (maybe a bit more depending how you define blocks in Albany, but its very walkable). Right near State St with a few restaurants, absolutely no problem to walk back from Jillian's after the games.

When do you guys think one should buy tickets?

Edit:  I'm a college student before noon on a Saturday after a hockey win.  My intelligence is not at its peak.

I got 4 on the blue line row Q Thursday 2/17 at the box office.  They seem to have plenty of good ones now.

Cornell won't get their section alotment until they qualify for the semis, the week before.

Yeah, just figure out the Cornell section (if there is one < crosses fingers > ), and call up the Pepsi Arena and order right by there. Which means not until the week before. Don't worry, the Pepsi Arena won't sell out.
