Penn lost their season-opener to pre-season top dog Hopkins by only 10-9, missing several last minute chances to tie it.  This will be a good test.  Brown's off to a 6-0 start, with a big win over Loyola.  The host Syracuse today, so we'll see how good they really are.

6-6, just under 12:00 left...

Cornell to go a man up on a hard, high slash on the shot that caused the goal... Penn off-sides, so Cornell gets possession

DeltaOne81

7-6 Red!!! who was actually up 2-men

save by Ross, and Cornell has the ball

mid-4th

DeltaOne81

8-7, Penn timeout with 6 min left

DeltaOne81

Damnit, 9-8 Penn with 4:44 left in the 4th

DeltaOne81

10-8 Penn with seconds left, and that should do it

DeltaOne81

Game over

The game was lost at the faceoff x. Scott Raasch looked lost a lot of the time. He had at least three or four illegal procedures on the face. A bunch in a row. Joe Bouloukos took over the faceoff job late and was passable.

Shot selection by the Red was terrible early as they kept shotting right at the Penn goalies stick. He hardly had to do anything to make a stop.

Some of the officiating was pretty bad, like a marginal push penalty on cornell and a few missed offside calls, but that's not what cost Cornell this winnable game. They have to get it together on those face offs...
