Thankyou Seniors

Thanks for another great season.  Cornell is truly a classy hockey team.

Thanks to our seniors, Hornby, Vesce, Marr, Wallace - Good Luck.

Cornell Fans will always be behind you guys in whatever you do.

Would have been more classy if Marr went in after the fifth goal and Hornby was on the ice for the end of the game.

4 great players, they shall be missed.  I hope they get good and drunk tonight.

On Marr: he transfered here knowing it would be unlikely for him to see much ice time.  Im sure he is glad wearing the jersey and playing #2 in goal tender lineup.  He gets little attention but its great to know that a qualified and experienced NCAA goaltender has been there for us if we needed him for the last 2 seasons.

If I were Todd Marr I don't think I would want to be sent out onto the ice like a mascot for a minute of garbage time in a loss that ends the team's season and my career. Similarly, I don't see why Hornby had to be out on the ice for the last shift.  I don't think you need to be offended on their behalf.

I feel for Marr and Hornby, but at the same time, they know how the game is played.  If the situation were different and the score was reversed (in other words, Cornell leading by 4), I'd have no doubt that Schafer would feel confident in putting all the (available) seniors on the ice for the final shift.  But the game was what it was, and they needed their best guys on the ice, McKee included.
Is next year here yet?

Hornby would have killed someone if he went on the ice.

I think that can be changed to when we needed him.  He played 4 solid games last year when Lenny was gone.  I'll definately miss this class the most as I saw 4 years of their great hockey.  It's sad to know that I didn't get to thank Ryan and the rest of the seniors after the game for all they've done to make Lynah Rink such a great place to be Friday and Saturday (and even Sunday) nights.

C'mon, it's Hornby's last college game, and probly his last overall.  Why not pump up the crowd for next season and let him leave on a high note by just taking some clarkson player into the corner and wailing on him til he cant take it no more?

That's what RIP coach Dan Fridgen was faced with when his seniors went after the Cornell players at the end of game three in 1998.  It was a bush league performance from which those players and their coach won't ever get any forgiveness from me.  That kind of crap is not what Cornell hockey is about.

"When we came off, [Bitz] said, 'Thank God you scored that goal,'" Moulson said. "He would've killed me if I didn't."

What marty said. That's not leaving on a high note. That's disgraceful.
