I don't mean for this thread to be at all political, just curious about something...

I've seen old pictures of John Kerry in a hockey uniform at Yale.  Was he on the "varsity"...i.e., Division I, intercollegiate squad?  Did he play any games at Cornell?

Thanks for satisfying my curiousity.

Kerry played hockey, soccer and lacrosse at Yale. However, he earned his only letter playing soccer his senior year, scoring 3 goals against Harvard in his final game.

In fact, Kerry *still* plays hockey. A few months back, he donned his skates with a bunch of former Bruin's for the NH primary.

Kerry also played in the Leary Foundation Charity game last year.

Hmmm. Ike had a putting green. You think they can fit a rink on the South lawn?

Work is no longer an excuse to live near an ECACHL team... :(

The kicker was that for the NH primary Kerry was in a UNH jersey, does this mean he is destined to choke?

No, it means that if there is a long review in this election, he might get the call overturned in his favor.

::rolleyes::
Or he could deliver the same one speech over and over again... U-N-H, U-N-H, U-N-H...

John Manning, Jr.

I've seen this guy skate a couple times.  If he played varsity at Yale, I was captain of the '80 Olympic team that captured the GOLD.

Bill Maher '78 made a great comment the other night on the election being about class warfare - Yale '66 vs Yale '68.

-note: this is not a political comment on my part

One of the channels had an interview with the author of a book on Skull & Bones, both were members. Apparently there is no S&B rule forbidding them from running against each other.

The interview I saw was on MSNBC with Keith Olberman.  They were talking a lot about S&B and how they steal things as offerings to their 'deity'.  Olberman replied, "Geez, at Cornell we just stole stuff for the hell of it"

Yes, it was the one with Keith Olberman. I almost fell over when he delivered the Cornell line. :-D
