I called and called today but when I got to the part of the Big Red Ticket sales that would normally connect me to a human there was a "sorry" message about all the agents being busy.

I think I called about twenty times!

So does anyone know if there are tickets left?

I went to the ticket office today around 3:30 and was able to get a ticket no problem :-)

I was watching the computer screen as the salesperson was looking for what seats were still open. It looked like there were some scattered in most sections. It didn't look like it was going to be possible to get two seats together though.

I've spent a lot of time on the phone with the Cornell ticket office and gotten the sorry message so often, I could do it. If you're not in town, I'd try to find someone in Ithaca to try to get up to the office and get tickets or just keep calling. Hopefully you'll get through.

I called and called on the phone today and got that same lovely message you did. I finally did get through around 3pm and got several tickets for Friday and Saturday. And, from what I could tell the seats were together. So, my advice would be to keep trying. I don't think they are sold out.  It does suck not to be able to go to the ticket office though. Us out of towners have it tough ::rolleyes::

Good luck

I'm looking to sell an extra ticket in Section C for Friday's game only.  In addition to helping out a fellow Faithful, the buyer will also save a dollar, since I'll sell it at the price I paid for it, $11.

Drop me an email if you're interested.

Just curious, do students have to pay for playoff tickets at Cornell? Here at Dartmouth the President's office is picking up the tab for at least the first 600 students for each game this weekend, men's and women's.

Bastards! Dammit, I still insist that Dartmouth sucks.

Ben,
I Think what Apple was trying to say was, yes, Cornell students have to pay for tickets (face value). :-))

It's interesting, cause last year we defintiely had to pay the mandated $4 per game - this year the college decided to pick up the tab. I'm wondering how much the flap over the security at the Yale game (the students behind the penalty box were monitered and controlled extra carefully that game) caused the college to go into damage control and extend this offer to shut us up.

Actually, students don't pay face value ($12). It's $90 for the season tickets and $7 per game for playoffs.

Well I ordered my tickets today and will be there on Friday and Saturday.

Thanks be to God.  We have visited each year since '96 and this will be our last likely family of four visit as my son is a senior in high school.  I would have been bummed out if the phone line had kept us away.:-D :-D :-D

ok. not to start the whole placid ticket fiasco again, but, IF we win 2/3 this week-end are a lot of people banking on ordering LP tix over the phone? has anyone done this before and been sucessful? just wondering if judy and i can do this or if we need to bribe a friend to go and stand in line ( and give them cash in advance).  one way or another we WILL be at LP.

jason

Interesting, my recollection (but I could be mistaken) was that during my undergrad years ('91-'95) we had to pay full price. I'm glad to see that students are getting a reasonable partial break on the price now (and I'm not one of those folks who think that the tickets should be free for the students).

Lake Placid tickets will NOT be a problem.  The arena holds 8000, and the only way that it'll be in danger of selling out in advance is if UVM, St. Lawrence and Clarkson will all be there.  This year only 1 of those 3 will, so don't sweat it.

As I have mentioned before, I bought championship game tickets over the phone from the Olympic Center box office during the third period of the semifinal game last year and sat in the Cornell section.  Getting tickets is not a problem.

ok. thanks. knew that they wouldn't sell out from last year....just wasn't sure about getting tix in the cornell section.  where and when is the best place to call to reserve tix in the cornell section of the rink?
