Union's captain is out with a lacerated spleen.

1. That's gotta feel pretty below average.
2. How?  Did he wake up in an ice-filled bathtub in Uruguay?

Al DeFlorio

A quick count shows that at even strength the Vesce line has one more goal than the other three lines combined.

Edit:  Oops, make that two more.

Cornell Fan

Union radio feed appears to be down for upgrades tonight :-/.  I'll have to rely on your guys' play-by-play since I'm not shelling out the cash for Cornell's feed.  Keep us informed!

Rick

Whats the website for the Union audio feed?

The first period is over.  It was not the most physical or inspired period of hockey for the Big Red, which struggled with the Union trap.

Al DeFlorio

1-0 Union after one.

No physical play.

Union's trap not as effective as Brown's but still causing real difficulties on breakout.

First period: Union got the only goal on a mistake by newly-minted center Carefoot.  Mayotte made some fair point blank saves against Cornell, but our only really good even strength chance was a rebound shot (Hynes?) that just trickled past him and off the outside left post.

Union definitely out-hustled (and out-trapped) Cornell for the full period.  The only pp was Cornell's -- they cycled well and had two great chances, in both cases a backdoor pass to Knoepfli jumped his stick at the last second.

We looked slow, overconfident, and several hundred times more talented than Union, proving that talent < hustle.  We better step it up.
