You know, one of my pet peeves in college athletics is when institutions pander and advertise to voters for individual awards.  Ala the "Joey Heisman" building-sized ad in NYC for Joey Harrington.

Normally, I'd support Danis as an ECAC player.  This piece of trite homeristic crap takes away from my support  (including the audio praise of the home radio guys, especially of Brown, isn't really a fair picture).  Issuing press releases about weekly awards already won is one thing.  Pandering to voters and putting one guy's accomplishments over the team's is kinda a slap in the face.  As much as we CU fans supported Lenny last year, I'm glad that CU Athletics didn't do the same thing last season.

Maybe Brown called the marketing department at Miramax.  They did get Chocolat nominated for Best Picture.
