Quote from: cth95Holy Crap!  I just looked at the USCHO scoreboard and Harvard won.  And this despite being outshot 49-29 and going 0-4 on the PP while BU went 3-6.  Did Millan drink too much before the game or something?

I watched the game with some RIP fans. They blamed the outcome on the::popcorn:: officiating.
"When we came off, [Bitz] said, 'Thank God you scored that goal,'" Moulson said. "He would've killed me if I didn't."

Northeastern is leading BC 5-4 mid-third.

edit: spoke too soon.  BC just tied it, 5-5.
edit: really spoke too soon.  BC 6-5 on pp
edit: tied 6-6, under two minutes

Nice wrap-up of the probable post-game banter.

No, but really, Harvard really, REALLY sucks.

Is it Friday yet?

I concur, and can't wait to see everyone in Ithaca!

Killer

See, I told you there would not be OT.  Of course, in my vision, there also was no "W" associated with Harvard.

Killer

Sorry to miss it, but I'm going to have to go with watching wrestling and women's hockey beat up Sucks (with Al).

I am not sure the adverb is appropriate since Harvard and Sucks are equivalencies and in this case Sucks and Harvard are nouns.

I stumbled on this report of the December 1966 game in the "Harvard Crimson" that may stimulate those who think the writing in the "Cornell Sun" is bad.

Note the second-to-last paragraph.  Game time was 8pm.  And the final score at Harvard was 4-1.

I liked this:
QuoteThird line center George Murphy stunned the obnoxious crowd at 2:27 of the opening period when he scored the game's first goal from a faceoff to the right of sleeping giant Ken Dryden.
and this:
QuotePlay slowed down in the second period and for the first ten minutes the Canadians didn't get off a shot.
and this:
QuoteAs boorish as the fans were, the game was kept well under control by referees William Stewart and Giles Threadgold, both from Boston.
Maybe this should be required reading for all new student fans?

During the revolution the term Yankee was used derisively by the British but it stuck and is now part of our cultural identity. Could we turn this trash into something we could use. For example "The Faithful, boorish and obnoxious for 45 years. Harvard Sucks"" I am sure others can do better.

That was basically how "Hooligans with Horns" came about.
